When old Zeb died so did an era that shaped Vineyard life. His wooden schooner the Alise S Wentworth, typified the slow methodical life style of many of the Vineyard characters who have since become the stuff of legend. There are those on the island who remember Zeb and getting paid to shovel coal off the Alice at Owen Park. The photos in the book are wonderful. The antics of Zeb are hilarious. I highly recommend this book to any one who has an interest in Martha's Vineyard.
