A "must buy" book for early professional pilots
This book is the consumate soup of all of the most important things you need to know before you go into ground school at a regional or major airline.

It was written by airline pilots who still remember how overwhelmed they were when they sat through their first aircraft systems ground school at their respective airlines.

I consider it mandatory reading before you consider setting foot in a flight simulator or airline ground school.

Bravo!

Best Turbine Aircraft book avialable
This is a great book! It conveys a lot and is yet simple enough for just about anyone to understand. I'm starting a job as a Beech 1900 pilot and this book has been great in preparation for that. Read it cover to cover...you won't be dissappointed!

Essential for the professional pilot.
This book was a great help in understanding turbine and transport category aircraft. I read and re-read this book to help prepare for my airline interview. Many questions asked in my interview had been answered in the Turbine Pilots Flight Manual....buy it, you be glad you did.

Anesthesia from A to Z
"Clinical Anesthesia Procedures of the Massuchussets General Hospital" offers concise yet thorough coverage on all aspects of anesthesia. From preoperative visit to basic airway management, from fluid requirements of the surgical patient to specific considerations on cardiac, respiratory and liver diseases, this book has it all in an easily accesible way, especially when your above the "blood-brain barrier". I would especially recomend the chapter on resuscitation of trauma and burns victims, because of the thorough coverage of the subject, better than in many surgical textbooks I have read.

Excellent Teaching Tool and Reference!
I have over 15 years of experience as an anesthesiologist at the prestigious Yale-New Haven Hospital in Connecticut. I've seen it all; however, this text challenged me. I highly recommend it, and every practicing MD and CRNA should have a copy to review and use as a teaching tool and guide.

This is the only book you'll need in anesthesia!
This book encapsulates all the necessary information for clinical practice of anesthesia. It also includes MANY charts and protocols for drugs, malignant hypothermia, ACLS, etc. I can't enter the OR without it.

Encyclopedia Brown does it again! This book was just as entertaining as the others! I originally bought this book for my nephew (10 years) and I ended up reading most of it with him! Needless to say, he loved it and so did I! He now wants to read more about Encyclopedia Brown and I can't wait to buy them for him!

Most pleasant read
There is a nice story here, of nice people. The writing moves without hitches, glitches nor bumps. It is very real, a terrific book for teenagers. Could and should be studied in college. Teaches without being overly preachy...actually teaches while being a very fun and funny book, too.

A Kay '47 Loaded with True Memories
A must-read for anyone who grew up in Georgia during the 1940s or '50s, especially those of us who remember the day the REA (Rural Electrification Administration) hooked us up and turned us on. Life changed dramatically. If you're not old enough to remember those days, let Terry Kay show you what they were like. This book -- as usual in a Kay opus -- is hilarious at turns, tender and sad at others. Kay is a master chef at blending a bittersweet brew of young love, class consciousness and changing times. Don't deprive yourself of a look at this fine early work, which was first published in 1976 -- before Kay established himself as one of our great Southern writers with the novel, "To Dance with the White Dog."

Excellent Book for the Wards
This is an excellent book for pediatric residents and medical students in pediatric rotations. The book is organized by symptom e.g. abdominal pain, chronic cough, and it provides a comprehensive list of differential diagnosis, flow charts for diagnosis, as well as short discussions on most common diseases associated with that particular symptom. A must for pediatric rounds.

This book is GREAT!
This book is a great book for anyone who enjoys a good, humourus, story. The first narrator, Geroge Gillet, is the Florida equivlent to Mark Twain. His humor and writing styles are remnants of a time long ago. The second narrator, Sarah Pamela, is a southern daughter caught in problems not of her time. It is her diary and her story of live in historic Florida. This book illustrates Florida as it has long been forgotten as the expanse of condos on the beach has given it a new face. This is a story of old Florida as it will never be totally forgotten.

An amazing visual account of the life of Oxford Mississippi
There has been very few times in the past that I have ever considered buying a coffee table book, most in my opinion just collect dust.

This book however is a wonderful pictorial account of Oxford Mississippi during the time when Faulkner still walked our streets. What I think is amazing is that some of the people pictured in this book as children still live in Oxford and are still an active and beautiful part of our local history.

This is an ideal gift for friends or family that have attended the University of Mississippi and have learned to love the small town personality of Oxford.

The Last Hero: Wild Bill Donovan
Published in Hardcover by Times Books (1982)

Comprehensive biography of father of OSS, later CIA
"Wild Bill" Donovan hails from Buffalo, N.Y.. In this extensive work of author Brown, we're provided his full story (as much as can be told, anyway) from WWII, Switzerland, the initial days at Rockefeller Center (and later, Langley), legal inception and structural formulation and dialogue with the president and military services to form the OSS, presently known as the CIA.

Exceptionally well-written (and just as exemplary, by the way, as author Brown does with Britain's analogue "C") and informative. Superb on WWII OSS operations in Europe. Author Brown explains much of what didn't already know, and fills-in wonderfully where we do.

Not short on pages, it captivates for just about every one of them.

What was the understanding then? That Hoover feared no one? You may disclose otherwise.

Good man, that Donovan. Good too, Brown, for work well done.

An captivating yet philosophical, spiritual book
This is a well written story about a young boy and his friend Rick who are trained by Rick's indian grandfather to live in harmony with nature. Although the story is captivating, it teaches the ways of nature. I have read it 4 time in the last several years, given copies to my friends as gifts, and am now reading it to my boys. This book teaches respect and honor for all forms of life, disciplined study, and the principles of living in harmony with the Earth. The story is excellent and the book difficult to put down once started.

The flat-out best book I've ever read
I loved the heck out of this book.As you probably already know it details Tom Brown's early life (ages 8-16)growing up in rural New Jersey under the tutelage of an Apache Indian tracker and medicine man. This book works on so many levels, it's a coming of age story,a nature story,an adventure and a spiritual story.Since I first read The TRacker I must have bought about 15 copies for friends.I got one "it was ok" and the rest were all some variation on "awesome".Read and enjoy.

A must read for any outdoors enthusiast!
I first stumbled upon Tom Brown when I went to Wihakowi survival camp in Vermont. The camp owners knew him personally and most of the counselers had graduated from his tracking school. I understood he knew a lot and I read the book. It's great! I can't believe how exciting his life was! I think it's more exciting than some of the novels that I've read. Get this book!

You be the judge.
This book was preety much like i expected, a display of the greatest architectural works for the last 20 years of the 20th century. As a Rogers, Piano, Gehry and Calatrava admirer the works of other architects that you wer'nt aware of their existance certainly open your eyes, some possibly inspiring, as i know they were for me.

For those people not practicing or learning architecture but admire the beauty, a display of SOME of the worlds most fabulous buildings open your eyes to look beyond the street you live in.

Although this is a fantastic book there are many other fabulous buildings left out, which you would expect. There arn't a lot of images of each building, but how thick can a book be? if you love the guggenheim in bilboa, 5 images certainly arnt going to show you the whole story, as is the same with the getty, or the creativity of calatrava BUY THEIR BOOKS there is so much more to an architect than just one building. How they can award a single prize to someone out of so many masters must be the hardest job in the world.

A must for anyone who enjoys architecture
As a student of architecture who hopes to one day win the Pritzker, this book in invaluable to me. The variety of architecture in this book gives the reader great insight into many different kinds of architecture. It's great even to just flip through the pages and look at the pictures... Of course, the written content is also very insightful and enjoyable to read. This book inspires you to learn more about the 20 architects featured in the book, as well as the future winners of Pritzker Award.

I love this book!
I first saw this book at The Getty Museum. My boyfriend, an architect, picked it out as a great architecture book. The pictures are absolutely beautiful. The architecture represented in the book are some of the most famous in the world and a wonder to look at. From the famous Guggenheim in Bilbao to Falling Water, it's my best buy. It's worth more than the money that you'll pay at Amazon!
