A truly beautiful book!
Choukas-Bradley and Brown's book is superbly written and provides a wealth of compelling information. Perhaps even more importantly, it reminds us of the value of our connection to sacred places in nature, something so threatened in our modern culture. This book has really increased my appreciation and enjoyment of Sugarlaf Mountain and all the natural beauty that surrounds it.

A Gem of a Book
As a regular visitor to Sugarloaf Mountain, I was pleased to learn so much more about it from reading this book. I normally shy away from nature and history books but the writing in "Sugarloaf: The Mountain's History, Geology and Natural Lore" is so good that it just drew me in. I literally couldn't put the book down!

I especially loved the chapter describing each season on Sugarloaf. With such obvious love for and knowledge of the mountain, the author vividly describes the different aspects of each season in exquisite detail.

I highly recommend this book!

By turns lucid, dark, comic, explicit, focused, & meticulous
The poetry of Tina Brown Celona as showcased in The Real Moon Of Poetry And Other Poems, is by turns lucid, dark, comic, explicit, focused, and meticulous. Bitchy but amusing
WHAT did Tina Brown do to Judy Bachrach? That's really the question you keep asking yourself while reading this bitchy if amusing book. Not that Ms Brown and Mr Evans don't deserve quite a bit of the stick they get here, but it is so... unrelenting. Judy Bachrach now works for Tina Brown's successor at Vanity Fair, and she applies to Tina and Harry the gossipy techniques which made VF's success. She should have applied fuller disclosure to her motives.

That being said, most details here are probably accurate. Thebook is not published in the UK for fear of libel suits. Not very sportsmanlike of Tina and Harry.

CORRECTION TO MY REVIEW
Hi there and apologies for bothering you. Judy Bachrach has contacted me to point out that when I say an anecdote was repeated twice at the start of the book, I should in fact have said an entire quote. I know this sounds like splitting hairs, but she seems a little perturbed by this and so if you could change the review to make it 100 percent accurate I'd be very grateful. Many thanks in advance for your understanding.

nasty fun
This book is a nasty, in a sophistiacated 1930s sort of way. Think, Clare Booth Luce's "The Women". This book is the story of an unrelenting social climber who had genuine talent and ability on her side but little grace, humility or kindness. And it caught up with her. The book does a good job of showing why Ms. Brown has so many enemies and why she rose to such starry heights in the first place. It's great for people who love NYC, or who love journalism, or anyone who just wants a juicy piece of shameless gossip.

McGraw-Hill or Darren Spohn
This is one of the worst books I've read! It was poorly written, (lot's of type-o's). I also did not like the authors writting style. (he jumps around topics too much). I have read a lot of IT Books this last year and a half(over 50) and this is the first book I came across that I had to write a review about. I caution you if thinking about buying this book. ...

McGraw-Hill or Darren Spohn?
This is one of the worst books I've read! It was poorly written, (lot's of type-o's). I also did not like the authors writting style. (he jumps around topics too much). I have read a lot of IT Books this last year and a half(over 50) and this is the first book I came across that I had to write a review about. I caution you if thinking about buying this book. The book I am reading now is Data Network Design 2nd Edition (reprint by Mcgraw-Hill copyright 2000 and it says it contains select material from this book) I don't know maybe McGraw-Hill screwed it up royally because the other reviews I've read are all high marks.

Very good book...
It is obvious that previous reviews have been made twice to
reduce average rating on purpose. However it doesn't change
the reality that this is a very good book. It covers networking
technologies very well and it is a well written informative book.
It made 3 editions after all. I warmly recommend this book. It
is a good reference to keep in your technical library.
