Everything you will need when it comes to costs
The table of contents alone gives an impression of how thoroughly this book covers all the aspects of managing costs in restaurants and food service operations. The book is also well organized and accessible - important concepts are clearly explained, and examples are well chosen. And it is also timely: no matter how attractive or imaginative your restaurant might be, controlling costs is critical to maintaining financial stability in a competitive environment.

Here in a single, engaging volume is everything you are likely to encounter (and the answers too!) in keeping costs down and sales up. A recommended investment.

Great Book
Great Book! I Found These step-by-step guides easy-to-read, and easy to understand! The books are packed with information. They reminded me of "cliff Notes" from my college days. The information is comprehensive without the fluff you find in so many of the more expensive books out there on the subject. The books are also packed with resources such as phone numbers and the web sites of the companies they are discussing - there is no "theory" just great information.

Ramblin thru the Unseen Rockies
After reading this material, I would strongly recommend the avid frontiersman to the novice to take advantage of Brown's testimony to lost and unseen towns that "once were." Brown's attention to detail is above no other; the exquisit portraits he provides makes you shiver in anticipation and almost to a point, turn back in time to actually see how we might have lived during this now lost and not too distant era.

I recommend this book highly.

A solid, historical, thoroughly researched presentation
The Great Pikes Peak Gold Rush by author and western history buff Robert L. Brown is a solid, historical, thoroughly researched presentation and analysis of the historical events leading up to the mass dash for gold in Colorado territory, and the gold rush's legacy on Colorado and American society and culture, past and present. Black-and-white photographs and sketches illustrate this engrossing and highly recommended factual account of a key American experience whose impact on the culture, history, legends, and settlement of the West still that lingers on to this very day.

Algebra Structure and Method
The book is broken down very nicely into sections. The topics are introduced clearly and briefly in understandable terms. Following the introductions are some examples that apply the concepts and/or equations. Each example has the step by step solution which is easy to follow and prepares the user for the practice exercises. There are sufficient practice problems with answers to the odd numbered problems. This allows the user to check his or her answer and correct any mistakes.

It's Great
It's great and easy to understand. It's broken into many different lessons that are really easy to comprehend.

Ganesh Dissected
I came here looking for this very informative book. I picked up a copy on the bookshelf in the quiet hours at an ashram in the Rocky Mountains because Ganesh is my patron and the face of the Radiant One who most fills me with humor and joy. I do collect Ganeshas and know from passed expereince that the boy with the elephant head is as alive today as ever. Run a search on "Milk Miracle" to find out of Ganesha's most recent miracle. This comprehensive and informative treatise on the ancient diety who is revered in three religions has many articulate articles on the history, importance and background of Ganesh. I was very glad to read so many insightful articles from highly educated and knowledegable experts in anthropological religious studies. The pictures of Ganesha date all the way back to the fifth century and the articles discuss all intellectual aspects of the deity. If you love Ganesha like I love Ganesha than this is a must-have. It's only shortcoming is predictable if you realize that this is created and written at a University. It is textbook, and only discusses anthropological fact, historical perspective and religious dogma. The wonderful tales of Ganesh and his joy and whimsy are not a part of such a detailed scientific study. Thus; a 4 instead of a 5. All hail Ganesha, destroyer of obstacles.

Jewels of Creative Possiblity
The surprise in these essays was to learn of the complexity of the myth of the elephant head and how it came to be acquired. This is why I love Indian myth. There are layers and layers of meaning, all complexly attuned to the creative life. There is never a resolution to the inner life of eros and creativity; only more layers of story. We should all live this way.

OLD, Archaic Data -Circa 1963-
Bobby Brown . . . in the summer of 1975 Mr. Brown's book was 12 years old, yet the data was still accurate and relevant. The deregulation of Gold in 1974 made a prospector out of me and many others. I was driven to pan tailings ponds, sleuce boxes, and every creek nearby to any minig activity. ...
Every weekend I took my family tent camping to the great Colorado outdoors, using Brown's neat book. We found apothecary bottles, gold, and tons of fun.
Since then, many 4X4 books have been written about jeep trails and Ghost Towns and their info, trails and data are up-to-date and accurate to a fault.
After more than 39 years, how many trails are obliterated? How many ghost towns are gone and how much of the data, four decades old is even accurate, or on the map any longer.
Mr. Brown, his book . . . and me too, are all really old now.
There comes a time when the new must prevail. The old is put aside for up to the minute, on time info. It is, after all, the age of IT, isn't it?
In it's day, Mr. Brown's book was the cat's meow. Yikes! Did I really use that old cliche? See what I mean?
You young people run the world now. Us old timers live for our memories; and Jeep Trails to Colorado Ghost Towns is a really nice memory. (Sigh) Nostalgia, ain't it great?
East Tin Cup, Russleville, Glory Hole, and many more . . . thanks Robert Brown! We love ya.

Execellent reference material for Rocky Mountain travelers
"Jeep Trails to Colorado Ghost Towns" provides the reader with an exceptional look at Colorado's mining history. The book also gives the reader a chance to go view this history up close by providing maps and instructions on how to access these towns. After spending several summers in the high country of Colorado, I can say that this book is a must. Be prepared...those mountain jeep trails will give you a new meaning of acrophobia!

Nostalgic fourwheeling
I bought this book while on vacation in Colorado. Other reviewers suggest that it is out of date and certainly there are more explicit trail guides to this State but it's a great piece of nostalgia. I love the pictures of flatfender CJs when they were almost new and ghost towns before the weather took away many of the buildings. It sits alongside other vintage Jeep books in my house.

Student Review
This book is an excellent introduction to the basic principles of insurance. We used this text as a supplement in our Intro to Act. Sci. class. It is very readable, easy to understand. Minimal mathematics required, some basic calculus concepts used, but only briefly. Don't let it's small size fool ya, it has plenty of information in there.
