Precious Memories
I received this as a shower gift for my first son. For his first year we sang along and rocked each other to sleep to the music. I wore out the first one, now I am getting it again. He is 4, and still loves the gentle melodies.

Wonderful sing-a-long
I received this tape as a gift from a mother who said everyone she knows can't live without it. She was right. The lyrics and music are beautiful. One side of the tape has a vocalist the other side just music so you can sing to your baby. It includes a book of lyrics. I love the fact that my baby can listen to my voice singing to her.

Pleased Mom
I was given this cassette of lullabyes as a gift when my first child was a toddler. She is now 8yrs. old and it is still her favorite bedtime music. I now have a 4month old and am ordering a second copy because my older child does not want to share:)

This music is very soothing and a nice addition to the traditional lullabyes. I will be buying more for shower gifts too.

Great Reference Book
This book is a great reference for the entire MS Office 2000 applications. I needed to learn Access in a hurry and found the section to be precise and informative and to be just what I needed. The tutorial was very good and after completing the exercise, one comes away with a confidence of knowing that they do, indeed, "know" how to set up and run a database.

The book covers Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, FrontPage, PowerPoint, and Outlook. I also needed some clarification in Excel and Word and also found those sections to be just as helpful and informative.

This is a great "quick" book and it does not cover everything. If someone is seeking more detailed information, then they really need to consult another book, which would provide more detailed information. But for the true basics, this book is great!

Excellent Resource
This book was very helpful in my introduction to Access, as well as in my review of other Microsoft programs. The tutorials are easy to follow, unlike those in other books I had tried. I recommend this book to anyone trying to learn or brush up on Microsoft programs.

Hand-On training for pepole in a hurry
I am very happy that I invested my money in this book because my students have been using Microsoft Office 2000 and have learned so much because it helps you through the whole learning process step...by...step. It is ideal for classroom instructor led training and for at home self-pace study. Plus the new low price is great.

Excellent Book About Sports Legend!
This book was an excellent biography abput sports legend Jim
Brown. He covers his outstanding football career at Syracuse
University. He is also able to give adequate coverage to his
outstanding career as a professional football player. He covers the women who have been a part of his life. He also discusses the football coaches that he dealt with during his football
career. Brown also openly discusses his role in many social issues of the time. He is still even today a hero to many Americans. This book gives an outstanding coverage of his life.
You will not be dissapointed. Buy it.

Best sports-bio I've ever read
Read this 4 or 5 years ago, but I can still remember things JB mentioned. This is easily the best sports bio I've read. Usually these things are complete fluff, but JB is a man of substance and he speaks out with intelligence and experience on a number of things (race relations, gangs, etc.) In many ways he is the anti-OJ; he has never gone out of his way to fit in with whites while turning his back on the meanstreets. Rather, he has dedicated much of his life to helping young blacks improve themselves and get out of the gangster life. He does a lot of honorable things, that's why it saddens me when I hear about his repeated run ins w/the law for beating his wife/girlfriend. In any case, this book gives great insight into the complex mind of the greatest football player to ever play the game.

Dead honest
As I write this, football great Jim Brown's autobiography, OUT OF BOUNDS, is out of print. While I have not ready every autobiography or sports bio, I can't imagine one more engrossing than the Cleveland Brown's OUT OF BOUNDS. Two reasons: 1)It's the story of possibly the best football player to date, in his own words. 2)Jim Brown's own words are dead honest. If you think he's kidding about anything you read in OUT OF BOUNDS, I'd like to see you tell him to his face. Don't give up the search to find OUT OF BOUNDS!

The Absolute Reference!
Nobody else could write a book like PC Interrupts, than Ralf Brown & Jim Kyle. This book is not only a reference, it is written from programmers for programmers and all the needs of an experienced developer. The title speaks for itself, the book is a milestone in Computer Literature and traces a long period of general PC development. May be, that the most of the stuff is dated, but anyway there's often enough a good reason to read some and the enormous information impact makes the book valuable for every programmer, today and forever. I recommend the book particularly!

Interrupts? -> Get Brown & Kyle's book
The classic Brown-Kyle book, this book is just great it has all the interrupts and third party calls info that every programmer needs I can't say anymore about this book just that it rocks!

Absolutely neccessary guide to interrupts
The difinitive edition of Ralf Brown's Interrupt List, PC INTERRUPTS lists every DOS and BIOS interrupt call I have ever needed. This book should reside on the shelf of anyone interested in low-level code, especially assembly. -nick black

hilarious and insightful
most people feel that philosophy is stuff, old, and boring. this tale of witticisms and puffery manages to amuse and instruct, since the puffery is actually some of the interesting basic concepts. any intellectually interested person would love this book -- whether you know philosophy already or not. it's laugh outloud funny. (must like dry british humor)

Very funny, yet scholarly survey of philosophy
Hankinson's compendium of philosophy is hilarious, in a classicly dry British style, and is also a masterful piece of scholarship. No where else will you find such a succinct survey of the body of philosophical work, ancient to modern

Awesome Ministry Tool!
After reading this, Jim Goll just jumped to the top of my list of all time favorite authors. He makes the words on the pages so easy to read and to digest in your spirit man. I personally was touched on three various leves. One I learned so much about the prophetic ministry that you don't hear on a regular basis. Secondly, I learned much about myself, my personality, and preferences concerning ministry. Lastly I felt that I was being fed rich and strong meat. I found myself growing and maturing in many areas of my life and ministry. This is a must read for all who want to learn more about the prophetic and be on the cutting edge front lines of ministry.

Think you're a prophet - read this book!
Jim W. Goll goes into a very deep study of the role and person of the prophet. In many ways this book reads like a text book but don't let that turn you off. I found this book very informative and a great book to read. It is not a fast read. Due to the textbook nature of the book there are chapters and even sections of chapters that you will want/need to chew on a bit and perhaps re-read to get the full value of it.

Goll starts with a very brief history of some prophetic movements, moves on to some characteristics of prophetic people and spends the rest of the book giving examples of prophets and how to build the gift that God has placed on the prophetic person. There is a lot of info about the blessings and pitfalls to watch out for.

I would recommend this book to every pastor and every person who has ever acted in the prophetic or believes that they have a prophetic gift.

An Excellent Book About Business Principles
I really enjoyed this book. I was vacationing at a Marriott Hotel and actually bought this book I wanted to read it so much (even though I thought it should just be given away to the guests). It did not disappoint me. As one of the other reviewers noted, it was a well-written, easy read.

Mr. Marriott inspired me with the business tips contained in the book. I especially enjoyed reading about the checklists that Marriott Hotels uses in its business. I really like checklists too. Why invent the wheel everytime you want to do something? Why try to remember all of the steps needed to complete a task, such as making up a room at a Marriott Hotel? Why not just find out what works and put it on paper?! In this way, a business can create a standardized process that can be taught to its employees, instead of relying upon each individual's whim. This idea is also discussed in Michael Gerber's excellent book, The E Myth Revisited: Why Most Small Businesses Don't Work and What to Do About It.

I also enjoyed reading J. W. Marriott, Jr's criticisms of his father's way of making decisions (I also thought it was interesting that he was so negative with regard to his father, in a published book). Jr. said that his father fretted too much about decisions and basically drove himself crazy. Jr. says in this book that one should not try to make a perfect business decision. That involves too much angst and is a waste of time. One should gather the necessary information to make an informed decision as best as one can, then actually make the decision. The price of pefection is prohibitive.

I hope you find this book as enjoyable and as inspiring as I did.

Inspiring business advice from a non-business book
Ran into a copy of this succint biographical book at the Sydney Marriott alongside the Bible/Gita/Buddhist manual, and I wasn't too sanguine about something from the hospitality industry being too relevant to me. But this slim, easy read may actually connect with almost any business person. More so if you are in any way related to customer services or marketing.

Without skipping any beat on chapters of glorious prose, ala TypicalBusinessBook, it shoots straight from the gut about the tenets of Marriott -- how with sheer determination it shot to the big league from a small cottage inn, the MBE leadership style of Marriott (the younger Marriott that is) who prefers to walk his troops instead of boardroom inertia, lessons in team building, the importance of listening to all the levels of the organization, codifying past experiences into business philosophies (not the usual "Best Practices" bromide that is bandied about in elite echelons of business) etc etc.

In all respects, a hidden business gem of a book.

Now the million (ok, 11) dollar question. You can imagine how I got my copy. So would I *buy* this book if I had to? For the basement price, and for the simple but compelling REAL WORLD lessons, most likely yes.

Excellent business advice
I stayed at a Marriott in Denver last week and found a copy of this book in the nightstand. I expected it to be hogwash and instead found it to be the most useful business book I've ever read. It is a quick read (about 150 pages, not the 240 mentioned in the Amazon catalog). It is entertaining without being self-indulgent and informative without being preachy. The anecdotes revealed an appropriate level of introspection (my one quibble is that Mr. Marriott claims that his family and faith come before business and yet also describes himself as a workaholic). I'm not in the hospitality industry and yet I found dozens of parallels to my own business (computer software and book publishing). Most interesting were the frank assessments of Marriott's business mistakes. He truly used them as an opportunity to learn. The book is chock full of excellent and thought-provoking strategies and totally devoid of the cheesy buzzwords so prevalent in, say, the latest Tom Peters books. Although I have no association with Marriott, the book will cause me to examine the entire service industry in a new light.

Nice Picture Book
This is a neat coffee table book for hockey fans. Because it's compiled under the supervision of the NHL, it isn't going to reveal anything that Gary Bettman doesn't want you to know. I did find some interesting content in it, though. It's loaded with some great photos and short essays on the daily doings of the NHL as they happened on March 23, 1996. What I mainly liked about it was that it didn't just stick with a few teams, but almost all of them appear in one part, or another. It also talks about travel, workouts, pre-game prep (including what equipment crew are doing when ESPN and Fox Sports Net aren't around), ice rink conversion, press, fans, games, coaches, the dressing room, hotels, broadcasters, Gretzky, Keenan, St. Michael's, kids, arena crews, and trainers. It doesn't give the whole picture on everything, but it's an adequate scratch at the surface.

Is this book out there?
I have been trying to find this book for sale for about a year without any luck.Maybe this note will bring this book to my possession.I am just your average Joe looking for a book that has my picture in it next to the Stanley Cup.I would love to purchase this book if anybody has it.

Excellent But.........
I find this book to be really interesting. What makes it the most interesting is that the person on the front cover of this book is me. I found this out by just happening to be in a book store and looking at hockey books. I looked under the Tampa Bay Lightning and their was my picture with my name by it. I really made me mad. No one told me they were going to put my picture in a book or my name. I don't even have a book for myself. I wish they still made them so I could have one. I feel they should have sent me a book or at least told me I was on the cover and my name was inside the book. Don't you think.

Something for Me
At last a golf instruction book that's entertaining and speaks plainly. The contributing words of wisdom from loads of high and low handicappers are straight to the point and easy to understand with lots of humor mixed in. I thoroughly enjoyed it and passed it on to my brothers and golfing buddies.

Worth a look
The two authors would apparently rather be on the course than back home reading -- this book is succinct and filled with practical, go-do-it advice. So you can pick it up, read a chapter at random, and try it out. Throw this one in your car, then stuff it in your bag and give their ideas a shot. I know Brown's work from his earlier books on tennis -- more my game -- and Sarbin has apparently seen every green there is. Not a bad buy from two veterans. It seems to have been priced as a gift book, but I'd get two and keep one for yourself.

Good, quick, solid
I have read a lot of golf books and magazines over the years and A Different Game brought it all together for me in one short read. As a senior golfer whose old bones aren't what they used to be, I feel like I got a leg up on the mental side of the game. Great plane read for your next golf trip...

Punchin' Boy
Jim Brown is an extremely original and unique writer and artist. I found Chappy to be a very interesting and adventurous young man, as well as Red Murphy. I found myself many times right there with them and feeling their emotions and the atmosphere of each incident. This is a book containing true life experiences that should never end; stories of two boys who never really wanted to leave the wonderous, exploritory years of adolesence and brotherhood. Best friends of this such should never lose touch with each other. The humor and wit is excellent - I've never laughed so hard in one chapter and then cried in the next. I look forward to Brown's next work of art. Best wishes to him and his publisher. This is a perfect example of growing up in the South where life was so free and innocent. Thanks Chappy for taking me home.

Great Book
This book is very easy to read. I enjoyed every part of it, and I hope Brown will write another book.

A Great Book
This book is very easy to read. I couldn't put it down. Hopefully, Brown will write another novel.
