GREAT BOOK !
I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN FACINATED WITH SERPENT HANDLING.
I THINK THIS HAS TO BE THE BEST BOOK,IF YOU WANT AN HONEST
LOOK INTO THE LIVES OF SOME SINSERE JESUS LOVING PEOPLE AND THERE
LIVES.I LIKED THIS BOOK BECAUSE ALOT OF IT WAS WERITTEN IN THE WORDS OF SAINTS THEMSELFS.BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE.AND A GREAT BOOK,I HIGHLY RECCCOMEND THIS BOOK OVER OTHER BOOKS THAT I HAVE READ ON THE SUBJECT.PEACE BE.STEVE SPARKS

Beautiful People
If only the whole world could experience the depth and passion of the faith of these people. Brown and McDonald do a superb job of segueing to the individual stories. The latter are the crux of the book. The accounts of and by "ordinary folk" like John Brown, Jamie Coots and Joe Elkins are fascinating. Will probably read this again and again. Perhaps even attend a service someday?

Signs Followers explained.
This is an excellent book. I liked it because it neither degraded nor exalted the followers of this faith, it was more like a documentary. Even though I am not a member of this faith I found this book very enjoyable to read. Extremely informative.

Best Book I Ever Got!!!
This was truly the best review book I ever. It's an outline of all of European History in Note Form. The Time line was great when it came to projects for class and I got so much research information for papers right out of the book. It made life a lot easier and I cant recommend it enough! I took it with me to the AP test... I'm now trying to find one for US hisotry... not so easy!

Excellent book
As a former student in Mr. Brown's AP European History, I strongly recommend this book to any student who is about to take the AP test. This book provides a great deal of curt yet detailed information which is very useful to study for the test and provides various charts, timelines, definitions and other efficient study tools to get ready for the test. Not only that but it also provides a short but thorough outline of the entire course. By mainly studying using this book I was able to receive a 5 on the AP test, and it was mostly through studying with this book that I was able to receive such a high grade. Any prospective student taking the AP European History Test should seriously consider purchasing this helpful book to aid in his/her studying process.

Excellent Introduction to Statistics
This is an excellent first course in statistics for people who want to understand how to perform and interpret statistics. Contains no calculus or higher math. The first half of the book covers the prerequisite probability theory (including the binomial and geometric distributions), and the second half covers statistics proper, with the empahasis placed on the normal and Student's distributions. The Chi-Square distribution is also covered. Linear regression, confidence intervals and hypothesis testing are given very heavy emphasis. The concentration is on practical problems and their solutions rather than with an abstract mathematical development of the theory. Highly recommended for people who have no prior knowledge of the subject.

Makes Complicated Ideas Easy
I checked this book out at my local college and kept renewing it so I could finish more chapters. Finally I ran out of renewing times and decided I really needed to own my own copy.

The book is detailed and precise. It is relatively hard yet light on math and what there is is explained well. It has great graphics and clear explanations that make the most advanced topics easy to visualize and understand. The problems at the end of the chapter are great for review.

It's the best introductory chem book I've ever seen. Better than any chem course.

Simple learning for an advanced class
This book is excellent for the Bioorganic chemistry. I went into my class terrified and overwhelmed. I was actually able to follow along better with the book than my actual teacher. The diagrams are clear cut and gives many examples. I love the factual clips in every chapter about nature or medicine and how this all relates to bioorganic chemistry. I found the clips a breather and a break from the complicated matter. This book finds a way to explain one thing in many different ways so that even the beginner can comprehend it at an advanced level. This book got me through the class with an A.

Unveiling Ancient Lands Beneath Tennessee's October Finery
Harry Moore and Fred Brown form a wonderful team as they combine their diverse talents to offer both the "over" and "under" story of Eastern Tennessee's spectacular fall colors. Brown, a reporter for the Knoxville News-Sentinel, provides the sonorous phrases which perfectly frame Tennessee's reddish, golden autumn foliage. Moore, a Tennessee state geologist, offers a unique geological perspective on the ancient geological features that define the lands that stretch from the Cumberland Plateau all the way to the Blue Ridge Mountains.

With Discovering October Roads in hand, those who wander Tennessee's fiery hills will have the opportunity to view them through a lens of wonder and knowing normally reserved for just a few geology and biology majors. Moore and Brown's book is a delightful, easy read that offers days of pleasure to novice and professional alike.

Shelby Foote makes it worth it!
As a regular reader of "Colonel" Fred Brown in the Knoxville (TN) News-Sentinel, I welcomed the prospects of this new book. It exceeds expectations! This team of writers accomplished the "impossible" by arranging to interview author Shelby Foote personally and that chapter alone is worth the price of the book--then there are Welty and other bonus chapters. Highly recommended!

Fred Brown "discovered" the north Georgia mountains
As a young man, it was Fred brown's Journal that introduced me to the north Georgia mountains. This book is a compendium of that magazine (its been out of print since the late 70's, I think) and more, richly researched and distributed by area. That is, the book is divided into areas of north Georgia, making it easy to find things to do near you.

The major problem with the book is that it is sometimes vague as to "how to get there." A generic map gets you within a quarter mile or so, but the exact location of the trailhead may not be given, leading a hiker to wander along a road looking for evidence. Don't get me wrong, I love this book. It has more trails than Homan's Hiking Trails of North Georgia and Pfister's Hiking Georgia and many of Brown's are different from the two previously mentioned books.

If you love to canoe, this is a great addition to your library. Fred is right on the money in many cases. For example, when talking about the Chattahoochee River he gives two great put-ins that are under-used and one take out that should be avoided and he is dead on with all three. He also gives info on canoeing the Toccoa, Chattooga and Etowah Rivers, but don't run the Chattooga based solely on his description. There is a more detailed book available by Brian Boyd.

Occasionally Fred bends the political boundaries of the state, briefly going into North and South Carolina, Tennessee, and Alabama, but the relatively small ventures outside the state make sense because the areas are geophysically related. For example, why cover the fifty miles of Lookout Mountain in Georgia and leave out the last mile overlooking Chattanooga, Tennessee? Besides, they have some great hiking there.

The best guide for the Georgia mountains available!
Simply the best guide to the Georgia Mountains ever produced, the Highroad Guide to the Georgia Mountains is the essential reference for exploring the wonders of North Georgia. Including detailed information on hiking, camping, fishing, canoeing, horseback riding, and mountain biking-- this book has it all. The easy to understand maps are keyed by figure number to the text, so that it is simple to find what is of interest to you. This book also includes interesting facts on the natural history, flora and fauna of the mountains, which give the reader a greater understanding of the forces that created the scenic wonders of the Georgia mountains.

More than cooking--a delicious slice of Southern culture!
"The Best of Georgia's Farms" is much more than the best cookbook I've ever seen -- it's a fun and insightful tour of the very best that Georgia has to offer. Colorful sidebars illustrate Georgia's rise from a sleepy, rural Southern state to the boomtown that has attracted Olympians and everymen alike. Succinctly written biographies give a fresh look at famous Georgians such as former President Jimmy Carter. You'll need two copies! One for your kitchen and one for your coffee table!
