Surprisingly, American immigration policy actually DOES recognize that race is an essential part of cultural cohesion --but only for non-Whites, of course. The United States has granted control over immigration to five of its overseas territories: American Samoa, Micronesia, the Marshall Islands, the Marianas, and Palau. All explicitly protect their racial majorities from destruction through immigration. In Samoa and the Marianas, for example, U.S. citizens cannot even own land unless they are of islander ancestry. One of Alien Nation's great strengths is that it repeatedly points out the fundamental facts about the racial transformation of the rest of the United States: Americans have never had a chance to vote on it, it has been consistently opposed by huge majorities of citizens, it could easily be slowed or reversed, and in the long run it will threaten the very existence of the nation. As Mr. Brimelow argues, it is clearly up to the proponents of this unprecedented upheaval to justify their position, yet the nation and the media have never forced them to do so. Typical in our Marxist environment, the possibility of ending up on the wrong side (pro-White) of a racial argument has seriously wounded discussion of what may well be the most insane policy in U.S history.
Indeed, because the immigration debate has been carried on in a Marxist environment in which everyone has to pretended that race and culture do not matter, the proponents of open borders have managed to compile a few arguments that appear to support their view. Much of Mr. Brimelow's book is devoted to smashing them. For example, a common neo-conservative/liberal argument in favor of continued immigration is that firmer controls would mean that "my grandfather couldn't have come." Many in the chattering classes seem not to realize that there were plenty of people already here when their grandfathers arrived, and that Old Americans were under no obligation to admit new ones. However, as Mr. Brimelow notes, it is worth pointing out that the grandfathers came from Europe, and would therefore be denied entry under current law. The most widely promoted pro-immigration view, of course, is that newcomers are a necessary tonic for the economy. No one seems to notice the implied insult: that White Americans are a stagnant and stupid lot who need the populations of Mexico, Africa, Asia and the Middle East to wake them up. Mr. Brimelow shows convincingly that if there really are any economic benefits from immigration, they are easily outweighed by the obvious burdens that Third World immigrants impose. Like so many government policies, immigration law is shot through with absurdities and special-pleading. The asylee/refugee program is political favoritism for groups that have powerful backers in the United States. Cubans and Soviet Jews are the obvious beneficiaries of sentiment that should also be bringing us boatloads of Rwandans and Liberians. The program is particularly wasteful because its beneficiaries automatically receive government handouts. Many develop a taste for taxpayer money and never work.
Editors at Random House must have agonized over this clear expression of White racial consciousness but, to their credit, they let it stand. In fact, it's the explicit statement of the destructive racial revolution brought about by the Federal Government that gives this book its power and focus. Even though it would be a pleasure to say that this is a truly great book in every way, it is defective in surprising and unnecessary ways. The style is too breezy and the first chapters skip about in a disorganized way. Even so, it's books like Alien Nation, with their wealth of facts, that might very will prove to be instrumental in the survival of European America.
Advocates of open borders immigration who are alarmed at the multicultural Balkan stratification that is common to the new influx of immigrants may be missing the point if they think assimilation or assent to an elusive "America creed" is even tenable. Given the motley crue of Aztalan enthusiasts that loathe Anglos and Jihad warriors swimming onto our shores, the idea of assimilation being remotely feasible must be swept to the wayside. The new wave of immigrants by and large have no intent of embracing the culture and ways of America. Not surprisingly, the future of America looks bleak with a stratified, hostile, multi-ethnic populace isolated in Balkanized enclaves. Middle America is alienated by the power elites who ignore their cries to shut off the immigration floodgates despite the unpopularity of immigration whether legal or illegal. If America doesn't address the issue soon, the traditional culture, institutions and faith, that America so cherishes will be drowned out. The 1965 Immigration Act with its open borders policy, its preference for Third World immigrants and lax enforcement of illegal entries needs to be scrapped. Somehow, I doubt the Brave New World taking shape will have any reverence for Christianity or the republican institutions of the Anglo-American founders in 2050. Perhaps, Pat Buchanan is right and a moratorium or freeze on immigration is in order.
...
The solution to this is to maintain a dominant cultural majority, (i.e. the true "nation") so that it can be the cultural glue that binds together the political entity known as the State. History shows us that all stable States are comprised of ethnically and culturally homogenous dominant majorities. In America, this has always meant that Americans of European descent and Western, Christian cultural heritage, have comprised the core nation.
What is destabilising America today is the Immigration Act of 1965 that opened the floodgates to 3rd World immigration and which is rapidly allowing alien nations to establish cultural beach-heads and enclaves in America's urban areas. This in turn is causing an epidemic of white flight as European-Americans flee the crime, alien cultural mores, and hostile living environments they encounter in areas overrun by people from places like Pakistan, India, Latin America, Vietnam and dozens of other Third World lands that have virtually nothing in common with the descendants of the European peoples who established the United States and built it into a great country.
Liberals, lacking the ability to refute the statistical sounndness of Mr Brimlowe's research and the logical clarity of his arguments are left to sputter "racism" and other demon-words intended to close the minds of the undecided to the contents of "Alien Nation" rather than risk the possibility that objective-thinking Americans will read this book and agree with it.
If you believe that the Immigration problem is a ticking time-bomb that threatens our liberties and our cultural heritage, you owe it to yourself to pick up a copy of "Alien Nation." It's the only book you'll ever need to refute the lies of the multiculturalist, "let 'em all come here," crowd that hates America, her founding fathers, and the Christian European culture that made the old American Republic, (which is rapidly fading out of existance), possible.

If you're at all interested in the reasons why America is constantly falling behind the rest of the world in educational standards, read this book. The author shows that we spent unprecedented amounts of money on public education without proportional success to follow.
I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in public education, union activity, or people that simply want to know why they pay so much money in taxes to support their local school system.
