Dasha Croy takes risks and it makes for a great story!
I love this book! I've read some of Freda Bright's other books and this is her best. "Decisions" is about a lawyer, Dasha Croy, who rises to the top of her profession. Dasha's success threatens her marriage, particularly since her husband is also a lawyer.

Dasha goes to law school to be closer to her boyfriend and soon finds out that she is more astute than her boyfriend in the law. She leaves school, gets married and watches her husband's dreams die as he is rebuffed by every corporate law firm that he wanted to work for. Meanwhile, Dasha has a couple of kids. The kids soon start school and Dasha gets bored. She goes back to school, gets a job at a top notch corporate law firm (one that her husband wanted to work at) and soon meets another lawyer at the firm to whom she is attracted to. The story, which has already been quite interesting, begins to kick into high gear. Add to this the intrigue of the television industry and of the courtroom and "Decisions" makes for a great novel!

Intelligent, thought-provoking AND entertaining!!
I came across "Singular Women" at a campus bookstand in '88 after a particularly gruelling final. It was the BEST form of relaxation I could have had! Ten years later, I STILL enjoy this story of four thirtysomething women, college buddies who continue to meet weekly in spite of busy lives. Of the quartet Rosemarie is a Martha-Stewart homemaker, wife and mom while the other three are reluctantly single despite being both successful and attractive. This is the story of the "husband hunting" contest set up by well-meaning Rosemarie to nudge her single friends towards the altar, and it's surprising consequences. The story proceeds at an exciting pace with plenty of glamor, excitement and insight thrown in. It quickly takes very unexpected turns that leaves one with a delicious sense of anticipation. Not only is the story line a refreshing change from the usual trite fiction targeted at women, but the book is wonderfully written and the characters and situations eminently REAL. Amazingly, there is not a jarring or tedious line in this book. Would like some light reading that entertains without insulting your intelligence? Read this !!
