I'm a student of the author (2001-2002) and I have been doing picture writing since the first day of school. We're at level 4 now and each time, it's been VERY helpful for my writing skills. I've always wanted to be an author and this helps me a lot.

It's an excellent way to write everyday actions with more 'spice' and beautify it with words othe than 'good' and 'like' but with 'excellent' or 'vibrant' the action words transformed from 'walked' to 'glided' in one simple lesson.

This helped me in my descriptive writing, Beauty of Language, and my vocabulary was broadened over the months I've done this.

This author of this book, Mr. Takenishi, is my 6th grade teacher. I'm really proud that he wrote this to make a difference in kid's or even adults lives. Mr. TAkenishi did this to give children a better understanding in writing. I mean, the way he explains it sounds so simple; and when it's time to do Pictures, the format is so easy to follow. You can even teach kinders! i'm already trying to teach my sister, but her short attention span doesn't help. Thanks Mister!! i would think it's rate is 5, from what i heard from other people, but i'll get a chance one day to read this book.

As the author's student, I'm sure this book is great! I have done picture writing and from my point of view, it's a great way to help describe everyday actions into a MUCH more detailed level. I recommend this book to all teachers because it really helps in the students vocabulary, descriptive writing, and Beauty of Language ;)

This book is excellent research material for anyone researching the Delaware & Hudson railway. This book gives a very good account of the history of the D&H between the years of 1976 and 1986 and its ensuing demise. The book contains excellent colour photos of both railway equipment and nearby buildings and is very useful for modelling purposes. I would recommend it to anyone.
