Sasthi Brata's book smells of a an attempt to get a visa, a scholorship and a publisher in England. He has attempted to shock the west by giving lurid stories of India; Tried to be one of the whites by giving instances of crude behaviour of Indians-- namely the funniness of indians speaking english. While all the time saying that he was one of the west; that he was the obedient student who would tell the white headmasters the real dark secrets about Indians; Of why indians will never reform...etc etc... But at the end of the day it remains a crude attempt to get British citizenship, an oxford scholorship and a British publisher. Pity bcos there is some signs of a little talent. But nothing more... My God died young talk about Bratha's days in India where he, supposedly with a western mind is frustrated in the uncreative environments on India... Man, if all this was true, why on earth, after leaving this country thirty years back does he keep crying that India did it to him. Well Mr Brata show us somthing which u have achieved in your thirty years in the west--- something except making a living about crying about India....
