I can not put this book down
Excellent Read! This book starts with 20 tips for success. Kemmons' sucess examplifies those tips. He is so hardworking, never afraid of making mistakes. As he said, everyone makes mistakes only a fool makes the same mistakes twice but he himself made same mistakes twice. Even mistake pays.
He did not become rich in one night as those in the internet bubble. He was already a millionaire before the Hiliday Inn. Even after he retired from Holiday Inn, he was still creating enterprises.
Makes me want to act on my ideas.

You too can do anything you desire!
Excellent read! I enjoy good business bios, and this ranks up there with the best of them. After you read this book you'll know what the word persistance means!

EXCELLENT autobiography and business tome to boot!
This book not only chronicles the life of Kemmons, but expands upon the ideology behind the business of Holiday Inn and other ventures. Not only an enjoyable read, but an EXCELLENT guide for an entrepreneur such as myself. Exceptional in EVERY respect!

Hannibal-like
If Hannibal Lecter were a writer he would write stories like these but probably not as well as Robert Steven Rhine.

Proof that excellent writing and entertainment can co-exist
I bought this book at Borders when I was searching the "literary" racks for something better to read than the horrible mass-produced sludge (Tom Clancy's NetForce, the Left Behind series, most anything written by a best-selling author other than Stephen King) that now clogs the paperback sections. My one complaint is that the book wasn't packaged and marketed for a larger audience. The writing is sharp, fast-paced, and intelligent - as if our best science fiction writers had suddenly decided to write horror. The stories remind me of Richard Matheson at his best. This is the only book I've read this year that didn't immediately strike me as either pretentious (like Fight Club's ill-advised use of "avante-garde" prose stylings or Hannibal's sophomoric sermonizing) or insultingly stupid (like the Left Behind series - oh, the pain!). Maybe Sun Dog will keep this book around and bring it back in an affordable, mass-market edition that can connect with the thousands of readers out there who want something intelligent and entertaining, but who can find neither.

This book made my nerves twitch!!
A great collection of horror, Sci-fi, and dark comedy. Robert Steven Rhine has a sick mind and he's not afraid to show it. The Raoule stories were by far my favorites! It's obvious from these yarns that Robert Rhine has some insidious knowledge of L.A.'s seedy underworld...maybe he's been there...or wants to be! From this collection of goods it's obvious that Robert Rhine will be horror's newest rising star!!

The Chicken from Minsk: And 99 Other Infuriatingly Challenging Brain Teasers from the Great Russian Tradition of Math and Science

The Chicken from Minsk really gives your brain a workout...
As a survivor of the course based on this book and taught by Yuri himself at MIT, I must say that The Chicken from Minsk was a true challenge. The great thing about it is that it builds critical thinking skills while making even the nastiest math and physics (shall I dare say?) fun!

Ever so much fun for the curious of all ages...
The former Soviet Union had a much more mathematically rigerous tradition in physics than did the rest of the world. These problems are word problems, and they will make you sweat. Ideal for the curious of all ages, but especially for teens, to keep their curiosity alive. I think highly of this book-gave 7 copies away this holliday season.

A comprehensive update of a neuroscience classic
This highly readable textbook is probably the only one that has successfully dealt with the explosive growth of research and discovery in the exciting field of neuroscience. The 4th edition of the classic by Kuffler and Nicholls maintains the clear, logical and coherent presentation of its predecessors while keeping up with the latest work involving a range of techniques, from molecular genetics to functional MRI. The book's emphasis on the experimental and intellectual basis of knowledge in the field makes it ideal for graduate and advanced graduate students, even those with limited scientific background. It is doubtless no accident that the relatively compact new edition has kept the breadth and depth of earlier editions without becoming unwieldy. Its only real shortcoming is its hefty price, although it is still below most of the competition. It would be nice to see a paperback edition.

What a book!!!!!!!!
I can't imagine to find a book like this... It's excellent. It has many things that anybody can need in order to know more about this system and this kind of cells.

A fun little book!
This is a fun book to take on a car trip. It has some puzzles that involve math (you know- car A leaves going 60 mph, car B leaves going 30 mph, that sort of thing). Some don't involve math (my personal favorite) such as "name 10 cities with over 1 million people each that start with the letter M (one city per country)".

if you like this sort of thing, you will enjoy the book.

This one is the best of the 3 healing tapes I have
If you can only buy one of the healing tapes, I recommend this one. It has more of the acupressure points than the high blood pressure tape or the insomnia tape. The sounds on all 3 tapes are the same and so is the guided imagery. There are only 2 extra acupressure points on the high blood pressure tape that this one doesn't have. And it makes you sleepier than the insomnia tape!

Core Reading
May be the best of Wilson's book for summing up his version of how the mind works. An excellent integration of diverse sciences, complete with many experiments you can do yourself. Also try Prometheus Rising, and Coincidance.

Forever relevant
This book follows in the footsteps of Wilson's earlier work, _Prometheus Rising_, with an emphasis on language, psychology, and physics. It makes the intelligent or enlightened reader to smile in acknowledgement; it forces the average to change. How much depends on their ability to do so. Some of the material seems incomplete (with little attention to physics' Anthropic Principle), but in all fairness, one can only go so far before one has written several books, and Wilson certainly has. More careful and insightful than _Prometheus Rising_, it offers fans of Wilson his best work, and serves as a great introduction to his older and newer ideas.

And the definition of "is" is?
Maybe this is what Clinton was referring to in his infamous linguistic/legal moment before the Star Inquisition. All joking aside, this book is a MUST read for anyone wanting to start getting rid of the semantic spooks in their psyche. This undefinable book of wisdom that weaves a coherent thesis out of such diverse topics as semantics, psychology, physics, model agnosticism and subtle humor makes clear better than anything out there just how much our perceptions and behavior are controlled/influenced by embedded language biases. Just learning to write in e-prime (english without the word "is") makes the book a worthwhile experience. Quantum Psychology opened me to a whole new way of thinking and perceiving, and that is something I can say but very few other books. I truly had no idea the robotizing effect language has on our behavior and perceptions--its not a discovery you can be "told"--you must experience it through the exercises in this book. You owe it to yourself to check this one out.

coping?
This book was recommended to me by a referral clinic as one of two volumes that are helpful in explaining brain injury.

Coping with Mild Traumatic Brain Injury is an excellent and informative book. It is very difficult to find a comprehensive explanation for the symptoms of tbi much less a solution for dealing with the problems.

Before coping can begin identifying the problems is necessary. This volume provided enlightenment and hope to me where years of seeking treatment have left a sense of doubting my own perceptions and reality and sense of self.

Just to know "yes, this IS happening to me" has made a world of difference in the experience of recovering in what is often a lonely, frustrating and disappointing journey.

This account by someone who has experienced brain and psychic trauma has a quality of truth that cannot be mistaken.

What a godsend!
The bad news is that I didn't find this book till 1 1/2 years after my husband's brain injury. The GOOD news is that I found this book, just 1 1/2 years after my husband's brain injury! I'm insisting that his children and my siblings all read it. Our anger and frustration over the myriad changes in him have nearly ended our 20-year marriage. This book is giving us the information we need to begin asking the right questions and finding some answers. Thank God, we are not alone in this.

The answer to my prayers!
I have suffered from disabling TBI for 4 1/2 years, and it went undiagnosed for over 2 1/2 years. I consulted doctors at several of the most esteemed medical facilities in the country, and they couldn't figure out the cause of my mysterious symptoms. The authors of this book are the first to explain every single bizarre symptom I have, from the hissing in the ears to the dizziness, disoriention, and visual disturbances. I am deeply grateful that these two brilliant women have helped me in a way that top neurologists have been unable (or unwilling) to. Even the doctors who found brain damage in test results could not explain all the symptoms. This book is the most comprehensive source of TBI information I have seen anywhere. It is a must have for patients with TBI, as well as family members, friends, and the doctors who treat these patients.

The book offers suggestions that include not only conventional medicine, but also alternative medicine, and practical, compensatory techniques. The authors emphasize rehabilitation, which is often helpful when drugs fail, and it does not cause the troublsome side effects. Thank you for this wonderful resource!
