Tiff at GMS
The story was mainly told in the forest. The main characters in the story was Franklin. The minor characters were bear, rabbit, fox beaver skunk. The theme was that this book would be that school is alot of fun and don't be afraid to go there. School is a good learning experience. The style would be that the author has a picture on every page and it has friends playing and having fun on every page.
A VERY SWEET AND ENDEARING BOOK
FRANKLIN IS A CHARACTER THAT ANYONE REGARDLESS OF AGE CAN LOVE. IN FRANKLIN GOES TO SCHOOL HE HAS GREAT RESERVATIONS ABOUT THIS NEW EXPERIENCE AS DID WE ALL AND OVERCOMES THEM WITH THE HELP OF HIS FRIENDS. I WOULD RECOMEND ANY FRANKLIN BOOK.
Franklin wins the hearts of children the very first time .
All of the Franklin books deal with something a child might face. They are written so it is easy for children to conect with their new found friend, and thats just what Franklin will become. I teach children and Franklin is the most asked for of all the books we have. His stories are great and children learn from his experiences.

Wonderful!
This book was great for preparing my daughter for an upcoming surgery. It went through the basics of what she would experience, even if the reason for the surgery was different, and it was done with a character she was already familiar with. The day of her surgery she was telling me what would happen next.
It's Ok
This shows that it's ok to be scared at the hospital. Franklin got hit in the chest at a soccer game. He ends up having to go to the hospital. He thinks that when you take a x-ray. Everyone will see how scare you are inside. Franklin didn't want everyone to know how scared he was. This a good book for any child that has to go to the hospital. I t shows you don't have to be scared. The doctors and nurses are there to help you.
A Must-Have If Your Child Is Having an Operation
I purchased Franklin Goes to The Hospital for my 5 year old son, who was having abdominal surgery last week. He loved the book so much, that he read it every night until the surgery. It really explained all of the different procedures involved in going to the hospital - on a level that he could understand! I strongly recommend this book to any parent who is faced with having to explain surgery to a small child!

One of my favorites
This Franklin book is one of my favorites! All the Franklin books are great! This book teaches kids not to be afraid of the dark! Lots of reading for smaller children, but great pictures!
I think every kid was scared of the dark...
This is a book reminds me of all the things i was scared of when I was little, and how i overcame them with the help of my mom. I think that everyone has had their fears when they were little, and many still do. It's a cute book.
I'm scared
Franklin is afraid of sleeping in his shell at night. This is every kid's problem being afraid of the dark. So Franklin goes on a trip looking for help, but finds out everybody is afraid of something. It lets the kids know it's ok to be afraid, but also tries to help him overcome being afraid too. The perfect book for a preschooler.

They Needed to Stick Together
Franklin and his friends go out to play and Franklin is told not to go into the woods. His friends play hide and seek and he knows the usual places each of his friends hide, but he believes that the fox is going to try to fool him and go into the woods. So, Franklin forgets what he was told about not going into the woods and he thinks fox is going to trick him and hide in the woods. Not thinking the others would go home without him, Franklin goes into the woods and gets lost. At six o'clock they were all to go home, so the others thought Franklin must have started home, because they knew he was not to go into the woods. They all went home as they were told to do and Franklin was left behind, lost in the woods and it started to get dark. Luckily his parents came and figured out what happened after speaking to all of his friends and found a very frightened Franklin, who went home, ate and went to bed, knowing to follow the rules, and his parents were very happy to have found their son safe but very frightened and alone in the woods.Mrs. Symmington
Pay Attention Where Your Going Even When Playing
My preschool daughter loves this book on how Franklin inadvertently gets lost while playing hide and seek. All ends well when Franklin is found by his parents. One cautionary note - the TV show version is different than the book. In the TV show Fox is lost along with Franklin. In the book, Franklin gets lost looking for Fox. My daughter noticed this right away. Regardless, its a very rewarding story.
Great for little ones who need to know why they must obey us
My daughter just happened to receive this book from a friend for her birthday. It has been her favorite book ever since. She has learned how important it is to listen to her parents even when we say something she may not like to hear. We always have her best interest at heart.

A wonderful story!
My middle son (then 4)loved this book while waiting for his own baby sister to arrive. The secondary storyline about Franklin worrying over his bean sprout is so sweet.
Now that my daughter is 2, this is her bedtime story of choice. As we get her ready for bed and I ask what book she'd like to read, we have to smile when she says, "Baby sister book!" We tell her all about when we were waiting for her to be born and remember the first time we held her. The boys will listen in, thinking back to that first day in the hospital when their waiting was finally over.

When the baby due?
Franklin is impatient for his baby sister to arrive. He feels left out. Just like most kids do when there is a new arrival. He keeps trying to get spring to come so his mom can have the baby. The is so true to want most kids go through when they are waiting for their new baby to come. They get put on the back burner while everyone is focusing on the new arrival.
A New Sister
I absolutely loved reading this story to my daughter. This is a great addition the Franklin series and an excellent story for a child who is expecting a new brother or sister.

My little one has a blanket
My three year old son loves this book. We read it every night and he is able to feel what Franklin is feeling, which is great. This is one book that keeps his attention. The first time he saw this book he screamed in delight about Frankiln having a blanket just like his. This is such a nice book for all who have a blanket or for parents who had blankets.
for every kid with a special blanket.
My daughter and I love this book. After nearly 4 years of cuddling her blanket is tattered and torn just like Franklins. This is the first book she has been able to fully grasp the feelings of the characters in the book and relate to them. For any kid who has a special blanket and felt the panic of it missing this book will bring a smile. It let her know she is not the only one who loves a blanket.

Franklin Shows That Halloween Is Fun, Not Scary
Franklin is a little cutie and he has lots of nice friends. They are all excited that Halloween is coming and they are making big plans. The bright colored, detailed illustrations of the quaint woodland world where they live are brimming with wholesome, good-natured fun. This is a good book for introducing Halloween to little ones so that they will not be unnerved by mysterious ghouls who'll come knocking on their doors on Halloween. It shows Franklin and friends getting their costumes ready for a party, painting, cutting and pasting decorations, bobbing for apples, playing a pumpkin toss game, and trick-or-treating in their neighborhood. They're a little spooked when they visit a make-believe haunted house but it turns out to be fun and they solve a mystery! They pool some of their goodies to deliver to their friend who is ill and can't go out trick-or-treating. It also shows little Franklin getting carried home in the arms of Daddy with Mommy walking along beside. It's heart-warming and has enough action to hold a little one's attention so they can become familiar with common Halloween disguises. It's easy to see from the pictures that Franklin is Franklinstein, Fox is clearly the mummy, Skunk is Dracula, and Goose is a wolf. Our friends dress up but we know it's still them underneath the make-up and masks. Franklin is a lot of fun at Halloween. Enjoy!
A reminder to kids (and parents) how much fun Halloween is
"Franklin's Halloween" is a book that emphasizes to young kids how much fun Halloween can be. Franklin and his friends are all looking forward to the big Halloween party and trying to come up with the best costume. What Franklin comes up with is the "Franklinstein" monster and once thing you should pay attention to are the neat little details in his costume: the drawn on stitches on his wrists, the fake forehead, and the corks for bolts (in other words, this looks like an actual costume you can make for your kid). There are actually several other costume possibilities you might pick up from this book, so kudos to Brenda Clark for drawing such fanciful but realistic costumes, as well as for providing so much detail in all of her paintings. The strength of Paulette Bourgeois story is that her characters are all having such fun that when she adds a message to her story it seems the most natural point in the world to make. Franklin and his friends are just the sort of party animals you want to spend the night with on Halloween.
Franklinstein
My sons wants to be Franklistein for Halloween. In the book all of Franklin friends'costumes are a secret, but Bear's. They think Bear is the ghost, but it's Mr. Owl. They find out that Bear is home sick and take some of their candy to them. It teaches sharing and caring for others.

Franklin is so cute
We love Franklin at our house. All the stories are so sweet and teach many lessons. This is a great book to read and then talk to your children about responsibility.
If you child is a Franklin tv show fan they will also love the books.
Goldie
Franklin tries to figure out what pet he wants. His friends give him suggestions, but he ends up with a golldfish. We now have a goldfish because my son wanted a pet just like Franklin.
Cute book with a good theme!
At some time, all children want their first pet. Reading this book helps show children that pets are work and that having one is not just fun. As always, good illustrations and a nice theme that is consistent with Franklin books.

Franklin and the Tooth Fairy
Well, personally I really enjoyed this book. I liked how it expressed you don't have to be the exact same as everyone else in this world. Even being a little different from someone else changes everything. In the beginning of the story. Franklin and his friend Bear, were eating their lunch and Bear's tooth fell out. Then Franklin says O NO! Bear you lost your tooth, and Bear said I know its normal for me. Then Franklin went home and found a small rock that looked like a tooth. He wrote a letter asking for something. Well it turns out in the morning there was another note saying, I am sorry but you're a turtle, and turtle's don't have teeth. So, when he went to have breakfast his parents gave him a present for being who he was and that he is growing up to be a nice young turtle.
Am I Growing?
Franklin doesn't understand why turtles don't have teeth. He thinks that is one way to know you are growing. Plus you get a present. He evens tries to give the tooth fairy a fake tooth. In the episode on tv they take Franklin for a checkup to show that he is growing. In the book, he gets a present.
FRANKLIN GROWS UP...
This book is all about feeling grown up. When Franklin's friend Bear has a loose tooth he tells Franklin. Bear is excited because he wants the Tooth Fairy to leave him a present. Franklin feels sad because he doesn't have any teeth and he wants a present too. Franklin's parents tell him that turtles don't need any teeth. Franklin puts a pretend turtle tooth under his shell when he goes to sleep to fool the Tooth Fairy so she can bring him a present. But he gets a note saying "nice try Franklin". Franklin is sad but in the end he learns that growing up is more than just about losing teeth.
I think this book is very funny because it tells about growing up. I would give it to all my firnds and everybody in the world.

Franklin's mother sends a reluctant and nervous turtle dressed in galoshes and a rain hat, carrying an umbrella, over to his friend, Fox's house as a storm begins to brew. When he arrives, there are three other animals there sharing their opinions about the approaching thunderstorm such as: "My fur feels funny," says Fox. "My feathers get all ruffled," says Hawk. "I can smell a storm coming," says Beaver sniffing. No one seems to be scared but Franklin. But he is scared enough for all four of his buddies! The storm hits full force and they all run inside. When the power goes out Franklin is so terrified he retreats inside his shell and no kind of coaxing on anyone's part, even treats from Mrs. Fox, will get him out. So Franklin's friends use their imaginations and begin talking about the CLOUD GIANTS. Whether the Cloud Giants are bowling or playing drums in the sky (thunder,) swinging from chandeliers or turning their lights on and off (lightning,) the illustrations are what make the story so great. Beaver quotes Mr. Owl's factual definition of thunder and Franklin, by this time, is out of his shell and smiling. Fox and his friends go back outside and Franklin discovers a rainbow. What Franklin say at the ending rounds out this very special story.
*You should buy this for the funny illustrations of the Cloud giants and what Franklin says about rainbows alone. Wonderful short story for ages 4-8. I got a set of 4 Franklins in a book club for my young daughter and this is her favorite.
