I loved Leonard Bishop's book Dare to Be a Great Writer! I think the thing that I appreciated most about the man is that he used to be a "hobo," as he put it, and could barely read, let alone write, when he got into college. Yet, you would never have guessed that unless you read his forward for the book. He overcame many obstacles, and his book is wonderfully written, concise, encouraging, inspiring. He tells all writers and would-be authors to keep the pencil moving, believe in yourself and never give up your dreams

This book has tips on everything a want to be writer could ever need to know. I always keep it with me when I sit down to write, and if I run into a problem I look it up. Not only does it explain, it gives examples so you really understand it.

This book is a completely amazing book, full of wonder and mytical intrigue. I wasn't sure of what was pulling me through this novel, but as I got "into" it I realized all of the intricate detail and ties for every foreshadowing. This author has obviously had their share of trials and tribulations as a child, and his bitterness and later, self-realization, is come to terms with. And, in the end, a completely well adjusted individual pulls through all of his troubles and resolves his broken ties.

The characters in this book are vividly portrayed. The plot is wonderful and it pulls you in and keeps you there. The ending is not what was expected, and very very good. I recommend this book to anyone who appreciates wonderful writing. I've read my copy so many time the last 20 pages have pulled from the binding.
