A Moving Testimony of Hope in the face of AIDS...
Rozar tells his story from the perspective of Christian faith and hope. His battle with AIDS has not kept him from living life to the fullest and trusting God for the outcome. I was so touched by this book as I know 2 people (one of them a Christian) suffering with AIDS. It is a disease that no one can ignore as it now afflicts so many people across all socioeconomic levels and not strictly foreigners and gay men. A beautifully written account of this terrible virus. Read it and be inspired!

Laughing in the Face of AIDS
This is one of the most helpful books I've read concerning Christian people dealing with AIDS. Written from personal experience, it gives great insight on the struggle with AIDS and the real thoughts, feelings and difficulties that go with it. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for an informative and personal narrative on living with AIDS.

Hope instead of Despair
Dr. Ed Rozar was a cardiac surgeon who contracted AIDS during a surgical procedure. His story is touching and very inspiring. He and his family could have fallen apart, because it seemed that his career would have to end, not even considering battling the disease itself. Their faith in God and the love of friends, while not curing the disease, has helped him to live "Laughing in the Face of AIDS". Alot of information and answers for some common concerning HIV/AIDS.

Biblical, ethical and/ or moral reasoning of your decision
I was struggling deeply with this issue in a divided household. I found the different contributors had a wide variety of medical, pastorial and individual perspective that was well rounded from their individual biographical histories. The specific Bible scripture refences to look up and seek individal meaning and instruction were helpful and very thought provoking and caused soul searching. Sterilization is an area that is not widely spoken of in any church circles I have been in and this brought a subject out in the open in an easily readable format with discussion group format options at the end of each chapter for role playing or group discussion if desired. The Checklist for decision making at the end of the book was insightful, thorough and well rounded.

I began this book with a vague perspective of church feelings towards sterilization from my childhood and my conscience on the issue pulling me in one direction. This reaffirmed my initial conscience position and strengthened where these feeling came from with specific passages to allow me peace and strength of knowledge in my final position on the issue. I would HIGHLY suggest every pastor, priest, counselor, physician and other involved person keep this in their personal library for reference and guidance on this highly emotional issue.

Whether you are "for" or "against" sterilization, I felt both sides of the issue could be defendable and made with conviction and clear conscience by the reader.

Minus 1 star
I would not recommend this book to anybody. It was a waste of money and a total disappointment for me.

A Powerful Book of Ministry
When our oldest daughter died, my husband bought this book for me. I read it, reread it, and read it some more. Since then, I have bought it for others who also have had a deep pain in their lives. While the title at first seemed (to me) irreverent, the book itself is not. It is a deeply moving book that deals with the struggles a person goes through in times of great loss. The author himself has gone through such a time. I highly recommend this book for such people, family, and friends who wish to understand how to help.

Every human should own this book.
Because a part of life is pain and suffering, this book is an absolute must. Having been in "christian" environments all of my life, and having seen so very much suffering - both personally and among family and friends, the title of this book intrigued me. From the first paragraph to the last, I could not put the book down. I have read, and re-read the book, and have given it to so many friends, this book is a wonderful book, and makes God seem so real to the hurting soul. THE BEST AND SO VERY WONDERFUL!

A must-read!!!
I'll say that I greatly enjoyed reading this book. With a deep plot of an FBI investigation on a giant cult that is impacting nations all around the world, the stakes become very high for Clare Conroy who is an FBI agent that has managed to "get in" into the cult and work as a spy. Many times her life will be put on the line all for the safety of the world! A real thriller!!!
In the beginning I will have to admit however, that it is a little slow going with all of the talking and narrating. However even though it can be boring in the first few chapters of the book thing will start to get interesting. It REALLY starts to pick up. With near death experiences because of car bombs, raids, and other exciting circumstances. This book is not one that is easy to put down.
