Clear, Focused and Fair Book on a Controversial Topic
There have been a number of slams against stock options by people who think they are at the heart of corporate scandals. This readable and thorough book points out that sharing ownership broadly has been a tremendous benefit to many companies, although a few have abused it. Those of us who have seen companies grow dramatically through the efforts of incentived employees know that options are the best system devised for sharing ownership broadly, and that current attempts to restrict them will do more harm than good for the US economy. This book carefully documents both the benefits and abuses, and should be useful for entrepreneurs who want to build companies, and for regulators who want to really curb abuses while saving the benefits -- and chance for broad based wealth creation -- that employee ownership represents.

Timely examination of employee ownership
This is a very carefully crafted and persuasive book. The authors do a great job of laying out the argument for why sharing ownership broadly with employees is good for companies, shareholders, and employees, while concentrating ownership in just a few executives is a bad idea. The book is especially important now with all the debate going on about stock options, which they point out are just one of the ways companies can share ownership. The book provides the most comprehensive data on this subject to date, so its arguments are not just based on preconceived notions. It deserves a wide audience, especially among corporate decision makers.

Psychology for poets
While this Psycholgy book does have some good points and interesting approaches, if you use this book in a class setting you will be dissapointed. The questions that the proffesor will use for test and quizes are elementary. But so elementary that they are completly subjective.

A good intro psych book
I used this book in my intro psych class last fall and that it was rather interesting, as far as intro books go. I especially liked how each chapter highlighted a specific experiment done recently on the topic the chapter is discussing. It also had many good graphics and charts, many of which the professor took to use in her power point presentations. The only fault I had with the book is that it seemed a bit too much on a high school level even though it was billed as a college text. But other than that, I thought this was a well-written, and well-executed textbook, though I would be more inclined to use it in a high school psychology course and not a college level one.

One of the best psychology books I've ever read!
I don't know if this is going to reflect on the quality of the psychology book, or the caliber of books I have read and reviewed, but I must say, this introductory psychology book is one of the best I've ever seen. The examples capture the reader and are used in an intelligent way to demonstrate the major points of each chapter. And I was never bored once with this book, which is a big plus. A great book for an intro to psych class!

Very informative, easy to read, but pretty dry
I have been reading this text for my clinical psych class, and it's really informative. the authors provide a really good overview of everything so you get breadth and depth. The only drawback is the book is pretty dry reading. Some authors have the talent of making the textbook interesting and informative, but this is not one of those textbooks.

Comprehensive textbook in clinical psychology
This textbook can be used as an introduction as its name suggests, and it also can be used as a kind of reference book after you have learned some more stuff in clinical psychology. What is good about this text is that it talks about every aspect of clinical psychology, from assesment, testing, observation, to intervention, and it also talks about sub areas such as child clinical, health psychology, neuropsychology, and forensic psychology. It sites many famous studies in clinical psychology. Good examples and some accounts on history as well.
