The Wish List
Published in Paperback by Naiad Pr (April, 1996)
Author: Saxon Bennett
Amazon base price: $10.95
Average review score:

Don't you hate it when a good book ends?
Saxon Bennett fully develops each of her main characters and draws you into their world. You find yourself wishing that you were a part of the story. I had a hard time putting the book down, yet when it ended, I was inexorably sad that the story was over.

The only complaint I have is in the title itself. The idea of having a wish list is only mentioned one time, and I really had to search for the connection of the story to the title.

In any case, I thoroughly enjoyed the story and highly recommend it.

ENJOYABLE READ!
I'm a straight woman who found this book quite compelling. As a matter of fact, I abandoned Jonathan Frazen's totally boring THE CORRECTIONS in favor of SWEET DESIRE and thought it was a good decision.

The book zips along and I couldn't wait to find out how the predictable ending would be carried out. I particularly liked the loving community of women and the enchanting Nicole. Enjoy!

Delightful
We've all dreamed of a place where lesbians outnumber everyone else, if only to fuel our private fantasies. Saxon Bennett creates Heroy Arizona for us and plops a manipulative ex-girlfriend that anyone can hate in the midst of a happily nesting couple starting a new life with their daughter. At times Sweet Fire is soap operaish, but I hardly think that's at all a bad thing in a book that is so funny, so sexy and so on target about what happens when a community of lesbians takes over a town. I enjoyed it beginning to end.

Good for a first
Being my first lesbian novel, Both Sides won me over with its interesting lesson on love and monogamy. It is realistic in its portrayal of women to women relationship, between sisters as well as lover. Given that there were cheatings going on, in the book, true love and commitment overrules in the end, and that is something we all hope to achieve in our life. This is a good one to read!

A Question of Love

One of the best I've read
This book was incredibly well-written with a slew of wonderful charachters. Their lives all intertwined so well and though the book was a little predictable, there were enough surprises to keep you going. The two main characters have quite the appetite for each other throughout the novel *^_-* Once I picked it up I couldn't put it down until I was finished, and then I read it again! It's got one thing I find essential to any lesbian romance--a happy ending.

a very poorly written novel
I have read many novels in this genre and was very disappointed not only in the writing but that the Naiad Press would place it's name on it. I will not buy another novel written by this author and will look closer at any reviews prior to buying another book with the Naiad label.

Light and Entertaining
This early book of Saxon Bennett's delivers an enjoyable story and the promise of a growing talent.

Her trademark humor is here, as is her ability to tell a story that encompasses lesbian romance in the context of the characters' entire lives. No Bennett fan will want to miss this one, and anyone looking for a nice escape will not be disappointed. It's what we all need, sometimes.

THIS IS THE BEST BOOK SAXON BENNETT HAS WRITTEN
OLD TIES I AN VERY FUNNY AND FUN BOOK TO READ. I ENJOYED IT FROM BEGING TO END. I WAS GLAD TO SEE CLO COME TO HER SINCES AND FINED A NICE PERSON LIKE FRANKIE. IT IS NICE TO SEE THAT LOVE WINS. AND IF YOU WONT A GOOD READ READ OLD TIES.
