I have always had this book on my shelf and never really opened to read it. Then I talked to John Bevere after service one evening about the depression I was experiencing in my life and he recommended this book. I saw the video and read the book and it totally turned my life around. I was healed and freed from depression, by letting go of the fear in my life. Also, I know how to deal with it if it ever decides to creep back in my life. John Bevere with the help of God's word, equipps us with a tool that we can't live without. What a blessing!!!!!!

I think this is an excellent book. I purchased it because I am having difficulty in my Christian life and saw this book and thought it would help, and it does. It shows how to break free from intimidation and to put ALL of your trust in the Lord, not in yourself or in others, but in Him. Very good book.

I read alot of books and some are so so. Some you pick up a few nuggets of gold. But this book has really changed my life. I would highly recommend this book.

This book has a powerful message. This is not a book just to intellectually please you. It has a message that will stir and challenge your heart to go after God. What do I mean to go after God? I mean to know Him personally in an intimate way and to conform to be more like Him. We need to understand who God is by His character. We need to understand the fear of God (not the type of fear that causes you to be afraid of Him) and the compassion of God. With these two, we will walk on the road of holiness. Without holiness, no one shall see the Lord.

Just to let you know, this is not a book on how find a easy way to get the anointing. We as the church can get caught up too quickly about seeking the anointing or the spirtual gifts that we loose our focus in knowing Him personally and becoming like Him (of course I do not discourage anyone not to desire spiritual gifts). I heard John Bevere say that you are not spiritual because you work in the spiritual gifts but you are considered spiritual by the fruits of the Holy Spirit in your life.

What an excellent book. John will challenge you to come up higher in your walk with God. He warns against the dangers of lukewarmness in Christianity; being a Christian is a calling to be holy even as He is holy. This book has helped me to be more conscious of my relationship with the Lord. It has helped me to think more of being a servant for the Lord. When I keep in mind that whatever I do, I do it for the Lord, then my personal happiness in this life is secondary. My Sunday school class has been using this book as our study for the year & I look forward to studying out of more of his books. John is excellent. If you want to have a closer walk with the Lord & live a life of holiness (without holiness, no man shall see the Lord) read all of John's books.

This book kicked my bottom. It was like being awaken by having someone throw ice cold water at me. There were times where my flesh was recoiling - I almost stopped reading half way through because I was soooo uncomfortable. Yet I pressed on and realized that I had to hear what John was saying because lukewarm was the way I had been living my life then realizing that the Lord will vomit out those who are lukewarm. I didn't want to be spit out. There is now a new confidence about who God is and how I am to serve him with my life. If you don't want to be challanged and be changed don't even think about reading the introduction. But if you truly are seeking God, He will meet you amidst the pages of A Heart Ablaze. In a nutshell - this book is transforming.

This book was a priceless tool during one of the greatest battles in my life. I knew God was taking me to another level and the fight was intense. I learned through this book that in many regards my focus was wrong -- my expectation and anticipation were placed in the wrong place. I bought the book several years ago and read pieces of it. But I picked it up a few weeks ago and plowed through it like a blow torch. The revelation . . .AWESOME! The practicality . . . LIFE CHANGING! I often wanted to just call Mr. Bevere up and thank him for helping me become who God wanted me to be. Be blessed and bless others with this wonderful piece of writing.

This book really brought me closer to God and understanding why we go through those times of hardship. John Bevere has such a unique way of presenting the truth to God's children. After I read this book, I prayed for God to mold me and make me into the vessel He desires for me to be. Watch out though, because very shortly after that prayer, I was molded in such a way that I never expected! God answers prayers. Seriously, this was a book I couldn't put down!

Wow! What can I say? God really touched my heart through this book. He showed me that the wilderness was a time of refining and preparing. He also showed me that I can victory in these dry times, which were really times to prepare me for the Call! Praise Him! I HIGHLY recommend this book, and ALL of John Bevere's other books and videos!

This book can mean a life change! Our small, selfish choices are exposed for what they really are - disobedience to God. This book is not condemning, but instead, gives hope to the reader to understand how our choices really affect our spiritual walk.

I work with teens and hope that I will have the opportunity to share this message with as many as possible - and soon. Definitely Bevere's best!

John Bevere's books are some of the most challenging and lifechanging books I have read. I consider his books The Devil's Door, The Fear of the Lord, and The Bait of Satan a must read for all believers. Of the three, the Fear of the Lord and The Devils Door are companion vollumes.

John Bevere's The Devil's door is challenging, and life changing, without being condemning. The book reveals how disobedience to God gives Satan access, influence and control over our lives. Obedience to God does the opposite, closing the door to Satan's influence, while enabling God to move us closer to him. One of the key concepts of this book is that Grace is far more than the undeserved forgiveness granted to the sinner. It goes beyond this to give us the power to not to be a sinner any more. I found The Devil's Door to be life changing. An Outstanding Book. I can't recommend it highly enough.

There is a powerful message here that every believer should heed. The type of disobedience that John Bevere writes on is not the readily apparent kind - but the hidden attitudes of the heart that we don't see clearly. It is a strong word, but one that encourages the believer to look to God for the strength to obey, not to ourselves to clean up our act. Obedience is not a popular topic, but Mr. Bevere makes it a very relevent one for the Christian who is serious about going on with God. This is a very encouraging book, not a condemning one. It makes the fear of God and loving God through obedience come alive.

I read this book and I have truly being blessed with further knowledge explained. With simple and practical examples, Lisa Bevere has shown her true life in walking with God. This book is divided by parts and days. It looks like a daily bread, but it is continuously related each day. (but there is no year stated, means this book will last longer!) I am thinking to get this book to be a nice gift for somebody.

I STUDIED IT FOR MY OWN PERSONAL WALK AND THEN I USED IT AS A BIBLE STUDY IN MY CHURCH. I PLAN ON USING IT AGAIN AS A BIBLE STUDY IN MARCH. JOHN AND LISA BEVERE TELL IT LIKE IT IS. THEY DON'T SUGAR COAT SIN. IF YOU ARE HUNGRY FOR A DEEPER MORE PERSONAL WALK WITH THE LORD, READ PATHWAY TO HIS PRESENCE.

I HAD ALSO BOUGHT THE BOOK "THE FEAR OF THE LORD". I STARTED READING IT AND THEN QUIT. AFTER I READ PATHWAY TO HIS PRESENCE THE LORD ENCOURAGED ME TO PICK UP THE FEAR OF THE LORD AGAIN. I DID -- DYNAMIC. THE LORD HAS HAD ME READ THIS BOOK TWICE. IT HAS MADE A GIAGANTIC DIFFERENCE IN MY THOUGHTS AND UNDERSTANDING WHAT IT TRULY MEANS TO FEAR GOD AND THE DIFFERENCE THAT MAKES IN MY LIFE.

GOD PUT THE BEVERE BOOKS IN MY HANDS AT THE RIGHT TIME AND HAS LED ME IN A PATHWAY THAT IS HELPING ME TO BE OPEN FOR HIM TO TRULY DWELL IN HIS TEMPLE (MY HEART).

Having used and read a number of devotional books, this one was 'sent' just at the right time in my life. I was longing for a deeper more meaningful devotional book - and this one met the needs. The book is divided in 8 sections of 5 readings and 'topics' which cover among others 'Is God in Control, Willing to obey God's word, When God is silent, Godly fear tested, Removing the log of Judgement, Remain stubborn or be willingly broken, etc'. I found all these readings which focussed on the removal of barriers to being more intimate with God, very deep and meaningful. I wish I could find something similar to work through next! Any suggestions?

I bought this work book to correspond with the book. It is so very good, it helps you see areas that Satan uses to bring you down, to make you doubt God, and His promises. I highly recommend this workbook as well as the book to any Christian as it makes us see areas in our life that we may neglect.

This book is a must for anyone. We are of the flesh and tend to get offended. But this book guides through breaking the bonds of offense, and forgiving those who have hurt you, or you might have hurt. It is very humbling. I am the fourth person to have been handed this book to read and it has changed the way I view people, and how to love them through Christs eyes.

This book will help you understand the depths of relationship with Jesus Christ. Pastor Schatzline communicates a deepness in relationship that I didn't even know was attainable. Before I read this book I thought that I was a friend of Jesus, but realized that I wasn't quite there. Pastor Schatzline explains the three levels of relationship with Christ - hireling, servant, and friend - and shows what a friendship with Christ actually is like. This book will stimulate you to go deeper in your relationship with Jesus to find that intimate friendship that your soul longs for.

I started reading this book the very day I received it from amazon.com, and couldn't put it down until it was finished that same evening. If your spiritual life is not continually growing and changing, then this book is for you.

I found the text to be very readable and almost conversational in tone. It smacks of the same caliber as books written by other noted authors in the same genre. If you like John Bevere's or David Wilkerson's books, you'll like this one.

Throughout the pages, Pastor Schatzline's desire for intimacy with God shines through, as well as his desire to convey that same hunger to the reader. The book begins by examining the root causes of why we become complacent in our walk with God, and urges us to repent of those attitudes. A seed of hunger for God is planted in the very first chapter, and is continually watered and nourished throughout the remainder of the text. We continue by studying the different levels of relationship which exist between ourselves and God, considering the defining characteristics of each level, and given direction for passing from each and on to the next higher level. All of this is backed by much scripture - the book is chock full of Bible references and illustrations.

I would highly recommend this book. The desires and knowledge contained within are precisely what this last day church needs to awaken out of its slumber.

This book will change your life and how you view authority. It helps you to realize that all authority is placed by God and there are benefits to submitting to authority. It also makes very plain that if you rebel against authoriity, you are rebelling against God. It is an awesome book!!

From beginning to end this book keeps you entertained and enlightened. The refreshing insights and challenging messages will awaken you to a new understanding of what it means to be a prophet or spokesman for God.
The way John interprets and reveals scripture is unsurpassed. Not many authors have displayed such ability in expressing clear ideas.
Though, at times, he may become overbearing with the "be a prophet" message, the central theme of the book is important, and almost essential for effective ministry in today's world.

God has oviously shared his secret with John Bevere. This is a must read throughout the body of Christ. The fear of the Lord is a call to the Church to deal with it's whitchcraft. It addresses the need for the servants of the Lord to sit in his council. It is only then that we can effectively - disciple the nations.

I read John Bevere's book, "The Voice of One Crying" and then immediately read this book. Both were excellent. In this book, I came to agree with Bevere that there is an irreverence that has infiltrated (for lack of a better word) the church. People simply do not respect the presence of God as they did at one time. This book will teach you not just how to develop a fear of the Lord, but why it is so necessary. I heartily recommend this book to anyone who wants to develop a closer walk with God.

This book had a powerful message on the fear of the Lord. We have been hearing many messages on the loving, and compassionate side of God but at the same time, we need a balance to hear messages about the fear of God. We need a balance of understanding the characteristics of God. If we only understand only one side of God, we will have an unbalanced view of who God is. If we ONLY understand about a caring, loving, compassionate God, it will lead to living a lifestyle of compromise. If we ONLY thinks that God is a judge, sin hating, holy, etc, it will lead a person to live a life of legalism. We need a balanced view of who God is.

At the same time, we need to hear the fear of God today and understand it. I totally recommend this book all the way. Please do not misunderstand that I always put the Word of God first above all books. Also I want to recommend another book by John Bevere called Hearts Ablaze.
