Sarah is a twelve-year-old Puritan girl living in Massachusetts in 1651. She is dreadfully unhappy because she fears her widowed father plans to marry a strict woman who dislikes Sarah and considers her to be poorly behaved. Playing on Sundays is strictly forbidden by the Puritan church. But one Sunday after a snow storm, Sarah and her best friend, Elizabeth (whose parents are considered to be somewhat freethinking for Puritans) can't help themselves, and they start to play in the snow, when they notice someone watching them and flee. Later, Mistress Goddard (Sarah's potential future stepmother) comes forward and announces that she saw Elizabeth and her brother Roger (she thought Sarah was Roger because she had borrowed his coat) broke the rules of the Sabbath. Now Roger will be punished when Sarah is the one who broke the rules. Can Sarah find the courage to come forward with the truth? I highly reccomend this excellant, detailed historical novel.

Ann Avery's "Dream Seeker" was astounding! I have never read her work before and would like to read more of it now. She did a wonderful job of combining the depths of space and love. What a romantic!

Kathleen Morgan's "The Last Gatekeeper" was romance at its best, to say the least! This one was extrodinary in the romantic way a world was saved. You won't want to put this book down!

Three stories, one book. I bought it specifically for Fruitcake, because it was the ONE book missing from my Jane Rubino collection. Death of a DJ is out in paperback. Grab this one while you can! It may be the only chance you get, publishers being what they are . . .

5 paws-- Fruitcake, by Jane Rubino: I wasn't disappointed. Fruitcake is far and away worth the cost of the book, all by itself! The second in the Cat Austen series, it is fast paced and delightfully funny.

4 paws -- Milwaukee Winters Can Be Murder, by Kathleen Anne Barrett: An interesting story, and my first by this author. Barrett has an interesting amateur sleuth tale. I knew "who-done-it", but that didn't detract from my enjoyment of the story in the least.

3 1/2 paws -- A Perfect Time For Murder, by Fred Hunter: Another new author for me, and one I've been intending to pick up for a long time. This is a short story, that for me, introduced characters I'd like to get to know better. Thank you, Fred! I'm a new fan!

I have found this book to be a wonderful source of inspiration - there are dozens of flower varieties to make, each with step by step instructions and templates.

I notice the book is out of print - I have also found the tools and supplies required for this dying art are equally elusive!

This book truly covers a wide range of Anatomy and Physiology while remaining focused on the healing aspect. This book is excellent for anyone studying medicine on any level. Easy to read and incredibly informative.

This is a great book for use in the classroom. Assessment is one of the most difficult areas of teaching. This book includes step-by-step instructions on how to involve the students in constructing grading rubrics. I have successfully used these strategies in my classroom. There are also black-line assessment forms. This book is first-rate.

If you like jazz, Chicago history, or just a good old pager turner mystery, you'll love The Jazz Age Murders. Like a complex jazz riff, the story pulls the reader along a wonderful journey through colorful neighborhoods and quirky characters to a satisfying end. Enjoy!

The characters are all very well definded, Book is fast moving and will keep your interest untill the very end, (hard to put down).

This novel which takes place in present day and flashes back to Chicago's Jazz Age of the 20's ties these two frames to a present day murder that some how relates to the past. You'll love Fleming's flare for Chicago's architecture and history. Her discriptive verbage draws you in. A must read.

You won't want to put it down! A great follow-up to Fleming's Jazz Age Murders. I love her characters - so colorful, especially Jan, the alcoholic, neurotic, and Amanda the controlling sister of the suspected Robby Saxony. Set in the small town of Glen Ayre, the "factory" holds many secrets that are discovered by the detailed and probing Glenda, the sleuth in all Fleming's mysteries.

The prior anonymous review seems suspiciously harsh. I would highly recommend to aspiring writers - or any reader who enjoys mystery novels. Fleming's style is flowing and fun. Read it!

What a wonderful read! I could not put the book down. I loved to see the return of her character Glenda. This book reminds me of many Agatha Christy books I read. Ms. Fleming's characters all have such distinct personalities.

It's nice to read a book that doesn't have an obvious ending. I was kept in suspense until the very end!!

It is so nice to read a book with such fluid style. I've previously read "The Jazz Age Murders" and her short story collection "One Impulsive Black Rose". Like her previous works, I find her characters well rounded and very reminiscent of such greats as, F. Scott Fitzgerald and Dashiell Hammett. I highly recommend this book it is a wonderful, quick read.
