Strories Woven into a Spritiual Journey
The author excells himself in this book He has a clever way of weaving stories into a meaningful sprititual journey.Using the all-time favourite "The Wizard Of Oz" as a guide he blends real life stories into helpful themes,eg Priorities,Loss,Old Age,Failure & Guilt,Signposts etc.I have read most of William Bausch's books but this has got to be his best.
Stories of Life Woven Into A Spiritual Journey
The "Yellow Brick Road" is the best book I have read by William Bausch. What is so helpful is the unique way the author weaves his stories into the spriritual journey, making his points very clear. One story that highlights this fact is the one about Ruth & Margaret entitled "Ebony & Ivory" It must be one of the most inspiring stories ever told. This book is full of hope, courage & discernment & it will be extremely useful to anyone going through a personal crisis. The book is real to life situations.

The title says it all
Bill Bausch is not only a great story teller, but he is also an insightful and compassionate pastor. This manual will indeed help pastors to empower their parish communities to continue the mission of Christ on earth. The very pratical and deatailed tips included in this manual will give pastors a plethora of tools for use.

A good forum for new writers
This short story collection is a worthwhile read, and I will be looking up some of the authors featured. In particular, Andrew Sean Greer's story is heartbreaking; William J. Cyr's story has an interesting conversational, matter-of-fact tone; and the curiously named author "wormser" has a short but sweet entry. The best part of this collection, for me, is the interview with author Richard Bausch. I found it thoroughly inspiring, as it touches upon such problems as writer's block and having the confidence and determination to live a writer's life. The best part about Glimmer Train collections as a whole is that they give unpublished writers their first break, in addition to publishing established writers. More literary magazines of this caliber and spirit of inclusiveness are sorely needed!
Talented new authors
This is an enjoyable collection of short stories; although, as with other collections, there are a couple of weak links in the chain. Nevertheless, it's worth buying for Andrew Greer's story alone. Others are also quite good, such as Karen Outen's fictional debate on whether to have a baby, Wormser's story about a childhood friend, and William Cyr's original and witty (and, at the same time, chilling) story of a bad stepfather. I also enjoyed the whole presentation--with baby photos of the authors (as well as current shots) and their personal comments. Established author Richard Bausch talks about writing, racism, and life in general in an engaging interview. Definitely worth a read!

Valuable Story Homilies
This book of Fr William Bausch contains more story homilies, 33 of them. Each homily is on a scripture passage and they are filled with stories as illustrations. These stories are mainly from his own personal life, from people he had come across and from literature and tradition. The book manifests his deep understanding of the scriptures, his unique insights into the Bible stories and his imaginative and creative mind that gives form to these stories. Through these homilies he presents the truth enfleshed in stories from the contemporary world. I found these very helpful in my own homily preparations. These can also be read as spiritual reading, helping us to place our story along with the stories narrated and to reflect further on the Scriptures. A valuable book indeed !
William J. Bausch gives good inspiration for your sermons!
W J Bausch gives good inspiration when I write sermons. He has nice stories and good explanations. This book is very useful for me as a pastor - and a blessing for me in my own spiritual life. I have bought all his books and they are important for me. I have also made a decision: When I hear that W J Bausch has written a new book, I'll buy it as soon as I can.

An Unabashed Look at the Sexual Abuse Scandal
This short volume is designed to be used by groups to come together to face the abuse scandal in the Catholic Church, explore their anger, and reflect on their pain. Bausch presents an uncompromising look at the scandal in a balanced, yet stark portrayal. Written before the Dallas meeting of the bishops, this is a marvelous toold for small group reflection on the situation.

A Collection of Excellent Sermons with illustrative stories
Fr William Bausch emerges as a very creative pastor, an imaginative artist and a compelling preacher through this book. It contains 35 sermons on different Sundays through the three year cycle of the Catholic lectionary. The book also contains notes and lectionary references. It is also an excellent source book of anecdotes and stories for all preachers and speakers. Through the use of stories, Bausch makes the Gospel message come alive and relevant to the contemporary Christian. For any preacher who wishes to improve his effectiveness, this book is an important tool and for any serious minded Christain, it provides food for thought and reflection.

Bausch has so much to teach an ordinary pastor!
Bausch is an excellent preacher. He uses stories and gives much inspiration. He is fun to read - in the same time as he gives Christian lessons. He is an important author of sermons for me. This book is one of his best.
