This is the first truly comprehensive and truly analytical account of urban multicultural processes: comprehensive because it locates all groups within the total socvial field of the London sururb Southall, and analytical because it distinguishes the dominant discourse ABOUT minorities from the demotic discourse about and AMONG minorities. I recommend this book to anyone engaged in the study and / or politics of cultural, ethnic, religious etc. minorities.

The Multicultural Riddle is a bold rethinking of current multicultural theory. Baumann identifies the three points of the multicultural triangle as national culture, ethnic culture, and religious culture, and calls into question essentialist notions of these three identities. Looking cross-categorically and rethinking reified categories as processes are the goals of Baumann's theory, and he incorporates the means to these goals into his interpretive analyses. The book is a fresh and well-thought response to current multicultural theory, and is definitely a recommended read for those interested in multiculturalism, sociology, politics and governmnet, philosophy, and religion.

This work is incoherent and reflects the incoherence of the design of the MathLie Mathematica Package. The text is neither an adequate introduction to the package nor a suitable reference. Descriptions of functions are locally incomplete and globally scattered throughout the book. Only after considerable searching does one find that, in fact, there is little functionality for the solution of any but the most trivial systems.
As a tool to learn applications of Lie Groups to Differential Equations, this text is useful only insofar as it represents the thinnest introduction to the material, suitable neither for the expert nor the novice.
As a tool to expand the capabilities of Mathematica, it is a pointless exercise in using essentially undocumented encrypted code with no evident organizational principle. One may well do better to seek help from a divining rod.

A good book. If you know Mathematica 3 or later, a little of differential geometry, is a good way to do symmetries in differential equations.
