A well writen book for the first time bass fisherman.
First the book brings you into a deep introduction about the Largemouth Bass. It then goes on to explaining how to locate the fish, and how their eyes work. Then you are brought through an intense description and explanation about the lures used to catch the bass, and also tells how to use these tools of the sport. You are then introduced to bass tackle, bass boats, and other accessories to go along with it. The book finishes with descriptions of the different regions of the United States and how the bass fishing is there.
A little out of date on tackle, but overall very worthwhile
This book covers the basics to gain a quick understanding of the fundelmentals that every beginning bass fisherman should know. It covers a broad range of topics and makes good use of photos to allow the reader to gain better insight to the techniques that are critical

A delightful book
The authors provide a view of the Alaska Highway as it is in this century, not the previous century. The Alaska Highway of this century is not the dusty, gravel road of the previous century. This book allows the reader to formulate expectations of an Alaskan Highway journey in 2003. The authors also provide information on likely places to spot caribou, bison, muskoxen, and wolves. Their photographs capture wildlife, scenery, relaxing side trips, local humor, and glimpses into the past in a vibrant, brillant, informative, and tantalizing manner. The text is refreshing. I'm glad I bought this book and I would recommend it to others. For those planning to travel the Alaska Highway in the near future, this book is a great supplement to the 55th Anniversary (2003) edition of The Milepost.

A stunningly beautiful, powerful offering.
Erwin and Peggy Bauer's Denali provides a stunningly beautiful portrait of the park by two wildlife photographers. An essay describes the park's history but it's the photos which captivate in this small but powerful offering.

Disappointment
Readers would be advised to buy a map of Oregon and explore campsites on their own rather than buy this overpriced book.
The author at times tries for a latter day version of Travels with Charley, but doesn't pull it off. The editors of this guide allowed too many pictures which are either irrelevent to the reader or are unfocussed.
A Great Camping Reference
After purchasing our travel trailer, we purchase several camping books for Oregon. This was the best of the bunch, easy to follow by region, 'tree' rating, and a good description of what you'll actually experience at the campground. A great reference; and a must for anyone wanting to explore Oregon's campgrounds.

Well at least there are a lot of nice pictures.
The title of the book is very misleading. There is very little information about mule deer in this book. I was expecting a book with detailed information on behavior and habitat. What you get is the authors' memories of hiking through wilderness taking pictures. There is some information of Mule Deer, but nothing you cannot get from a magazine article.

At least it's cheap
If you want concise information and reference for full range salwater fishing, this book is not for you. It is wordy; more like a compedium of fishing stories. It only covers some of the major species. There are some pages covering basic rigs and lures. The book is a bit outdated. This is a good beginner's book if you are considering getting into saltwater fishing, and want to get a feel for the sport more than detailed, specific information. I have had mine for many years, and refer to it when I am thinking of going after a new fish. If if sounds interesting, I look for more info elsewhere.
Pretty good book but not for serious fisherman
The book gives general decriptions on the fishing fairy well, but it does not provide enough informations about the fishing technics. Also this book needs to be updated and could use a little better organization.
