This is an excellent introduction to the early years of Pocket Billiards best woman player. Jean Balukas was and still is one of the most fascinating people in Billiards. Not too long after this book came out, Jean was banned from competing in the Women's Professional Billiard Association due to her refusal to pay a $200 fine that was imposed, and she was railroaded out of the Men's Professional tour due to pettiness. One of the best players in the history of the game, the youngest player ever inducted into the BCA Hall of Fame, retired forever from the game of Billiards at the top of her game. This book is an excellent opportunity to learn about someone who became the best in the world, but never wanted the publicity that came with her fame. This book is very hard to find.
