It's too bad no one seems to have had a chance to read this book. But it's one of the best books of poetry you're likely to read this or any other year. Angela Ball gives us poems of emotional logic--sometimes ironic, sometimes bitter, sometimes bemused--that tell us something of what it is to live a life. After reading her you'll find that some of the better-known poets just seem like they're playing around. This is a book that takes actual risks.

This poet is very cool, like having a New York street sensibility (humor, wit) while maintaining a hospitable southern stance toward experience. She has a wonderful sense of jazz in her writing. I dig her.

Huth's very satisfying style of writing made this book hard to put down, once I got past the first few pages. I found myself hurrying to get through the day's chores so, like Rachel, I could escape to enjoy this private pleasure. It did take a bit of time to draw me in, but by all means, stick with it. The characters are richly drawn, the dialogue crisp and wry. All in all, a thoroughly good read.
