truth in language
In a world where everyone where everyone is constantly "spinning" the truth and language around in circles this is a great guide.

Verbal backhands
After reading this book I was able to totally decimate my friends and enemies with insults that nobody understood. There is nothing like firing a verbal barrage at a person and having have to stop and think about what you actually meant. Gives you more time to run away.

For anybody wanting to take their insults that one step further, this book is a must.

A cat-lovers Christmas!
If you love cats and Christmas, as I do, this book is for you. Lesley Anne Ivory has several cats and kittens, and she paints the Christmas scenes the cats find themselves in, and includes a little story with each one. The paintings of hers are superb, as is the text. This is a charming little book, of high quality, and one you may want to leave out during the holiday season for others to enjoy also.

Even if you don`t have a dog !!!
I don`t... but it sure made me want one. This book is a wonderful collection of quality literature pieces devoted to dogs of all kinds : sofa dogs, mud dogs, wild dogs. The greatest names have contributed, some in loving tribute to their best friend. I warmly recommend it. Some of the stories are totally fascinating, so well do they penetrate the mysterious psychology of dogs. I read it in two days.

A light-heatred summary of the life of a dog trainer.
Matthew Margolis tells of his humble beginings and love for dogs in New York City in the 1960's that leads to a fantastic and wonderful journey about his love for dogs to writing books about dog training. His journey includes appearing on numerous TV and radio stations including "The Johnny Carson Show" and his reputation for training dogs through "love, praise, and affection." His book moves, with him, to the west coast where he becomes "Dog trainer to the stars," people such as Woopie Goldberg, Cher, Jimmy Stewrart etc. It's difficult to put this one down. I would recomend this book to anyone who has just bought a dog or is seriously interested in training and loving one. It will leave you smiling!

Excellent - well written
Bill Root's How to Play a Bridge Hand is very well organized and very easy to follow - from how to play card combinations through operating a squeeze play. At the end of each of the twelve chapters there is a quiz of problem hands to solve. There is much to be learned from this book and I highly recommend it for the novice through advanced player. Winner of the American Bridge Teachers' Association book of the year award.

Covers every aspect of play
A splendid effort from Bill Root. Covers every aspect of play with tips on strategy, technique, and psychology. Covers suit combinations, communications, entries, trump control, ruffing, counting, card reading, squeezes, and end plays. 1990 Bridge Book of the Year.

Not for experts
Bill Root's "How to Teach a Bridge Hand" is for most bridge players from novice to advanced, but not for experts. It covers the basics of dummy play, with clear presentations. You won't find strip squeeze and entry-shifting squeeze in this book, but you will find the book useful for those hands frequently appearing at the table
