Excellent first impression
I only had a few minutes to look at this book in the store, but I greatly enjoyed it. It has a list of recommended equipment to take with you on a variety of outdoor adventures. It also listed what equipment/settings were used to obtain the pictures shown in the book. It is at the top of my list for the next book I buy.

A Tale of Christmas Miracles
An Angel's Touch is touching tale of hope and Christmas miracles. Don and Cathy Angel are in devastating and fatal car crash on Christmas Eve. Meeting Archangel Gabriel, they are told that they must perform three miracles by midnight of this Christmas Eve in order to earn their wings. Don is skeptical and Cathy believes, as they are given their "list" of who they must help and what they can and cannot do back again on earth. Gabriel also explains to them about people having faith against all odds, especially during this solemn time of the year.
"Little Miracles. Christmas gifts. Making something work out for people who just keep trying and believing against all odds. That is a miracle, you see. When all facts and figures suggest that something just can't happen - but it does. When faith makes something happen."

The people Don and Cathy encounter and help are struggling with issues and situations that are not uncommon or difficult in our lives today. Pozzessere combines touches of humor along with sentimentality as her "angels" struggle to accomplish their mission before midnight.

"Life - on Earth - only lasts so long for any man, woman, and child. It's a gift, like any other. And quite fleeting at the very best, against the spectrum of time. But there is a quality to every man's life. Life is a gift to be used to the fullest, no matter how the days are measured. Perhaps life itself is the greatest gift, but sometime it takes a miracle to make people see that."

This book is easy to read and the touches of humor are quite enjoyable in the realm of performing Christmas miracles. The ending will surprise you as well as bring tears to your eyes. Christmas is a time of miracles, but it is also a time of love, as Pozzessere so eloquently shows us. This would be a great book for the entire family to read during the holiday season!

So sweet.
I really liked this one. The characters were very human and I felt that I knew them. They were honest and real and sweet. It was a quick read and it makes you cry and feel good about life and love at the same time.

Pandas Forever!
Being a huge fan of the Panda, I am a very biased reviewer. However, I thoroughly enjoyed this book about my favorite animal. The details and histories of the panda were not the best that I have ever read, nor were they the least filled with information.

Therefore, if you enjoy the panda, I would recommend that you add it to your collection of books.

A disappointment.
If you are looking for a good overview of flower photography this is your book. If you want some good meaty ideas on techniques and equipment, look elsewhere.

I bought this book looking for specific ideas on equipment usage and for killer photos. In many of the photos the flower itself appears, in my opinion, overexposed. Hopefully this is an artifact of the printing process. In any case the end result is that some of the printed photos do not meet the quality standard set by other photo books.

The comments on exposure scattered throughout the book imply that the author did not use TTL (through-the-lens) spot metering. Today it is hard to buy a 35mm camera without some sort of TTL spot function The author's lack of specificity in this case can greatly mislead those who are just beginning flower photography. The author's comments apply perfectly--to full screen metering only. Whay chaps me is that the author says nothing about the type of metering used. This, in a nutshell, is my biggest squawk about this book. Too many generalities. And if you want to do the best you can with what you have, you need specifics.

There are some good ideas like carry some string to tie back branches. I especially like the trick of converting the camera to an incedent light meter. Elegant.

Insofar as equipment utilization, the subject of multiple flash was barely mentioned. Nor was, unless I missed it, the idea of using a 24mm lens plus your smallest (12mm) extension tube for close up in the face shots.

Beautiful photos, comprehensive info
This wonderful book is packed with gorgeous flower photos and excellently presented practical information. It will appeal to anyone who wants to photograph flowers or who just appreciates them.

I like the way every point is demonstrated by an actual flower photograph. No space is wasted with pictures of equipment or other distractions. Still there is a wealth of technical information clearly & logically presented.

Each photo illustrates a specific concept of photographic technique and composition, described succinctly in the caption and in detail in the associated text. Information on the flowers and location is also included.

The book also chronicles the author's worldwide travels as a commercial flower photographer. Various business opportunities are explored and lists of sources are references are provided as well.

A disappointment
I came across this book a couple of times and felt compelled to buy it and check it out. My mistake! The long section on spirit communication, while intended to be straightforward, comes off as simple-minded and, at times, precious. Unfortunately, I was also put off by Dr. Harding's take on spirituality. She has every right to her beliefs, but I have no time for apocalyptic christianity in any form. I don't believe we're living in "the end times," and I don't believe we are punished in the afterlife for misdeeds committed in this one (neither does Dr. Harding -- or so she says, since she contradicts herself several times on this point).
If you're interested in this topic, I'd recommend Robert Monroe's books, or Bob Petersen's.

unbeleaveable
mostly fiction, If it were true we all should hear more from god, and if we did , this world would be much better. If you cant find out about heaven or christ you are at a very diffrant place than you want to be, burn these kind of books. ask god for his protection because your going to need it.

Very Good!
This book has simple, straightforward sections on communicating with the dead.Anyone can perform them.A lot of books such as this make you feel like you have a be a Wiccan High Priestess to even grasp it, but not this one.She also makes sure to tell you how important it is to protect yourself and gives clear instructions for doing so. This book is practical and her methods really work.If you are trying to learn how to communicate with the dead, this book will be helpful to you.

How to look at photographs of Water
This book contains some nice photographs of water-based landscapes, but teaches little about technique, composition, shutter speed etc. for photographing water.

Living close to the beach and waterfalls, I was somewhat disapointed in the content. Too much of the early chapters were taken up with general photographic principles and not enough specifics were provided on the actual subject - how to photograph water. Good pictures, but if you are looking for a comprehensive instructional source, this is not it.

Good for bookshelf, not for learners
First of all, I never understood why the name of the book is "How To ....". All you get here some nice and spectacular pictures which contain some sort of water. This book never explained how to photograph various styles like stucco effect, rococo or cloudy effects. What are suitable film speed, shutter speed and weather condition required for a particular style. All you get here are what camera, what lens and what film used for the pictures. For taking water pictures, especially moving water, the most important thing is shutter speed. Choosing the shutter speed makes the style. Surprisingly the writer ignored it. If you want to get a book with beautiful pictures from all over the world, go ahead and buy it. If you want to learn HOW TO photograph water, DO NOT buy this book.

Informative and beautifully photographed
This book is a must for any budding landscape photographer with an interest in capturing that most elusive of elements- water. Angel includes expert tips on photographing water in all its forms- liquid, frozen, mist, with wildlife, abstract & macro and is superbly presented and photographed to boot. This volume is destined to become a well thumbed fixture on my bookshelf

Only read it for DP.
I read all three books but of course Diana's was the best. I gave three stars because of Diana Palmer contribution. The books all centered around the Native American theme. The men were all of Native American decent. I stuggled through the second book, it was sooooo boring. The third book was toooo unrealistic. I found it confusing and a little hard to follow. However, I do know that Heather Pozzessere is a good writer. Anyway, the first book was DP's Hunter. This book is the followup of His Girl Friday. Jennifer Marist is a geologist who is under the protection of Phillip Hunter. They are on assignment to do a land survey in the Arizona desert. Jennifer is absolutely, irrevocably in love with Phillip and cannot hide her attraction to him. Phillip is not interested in an interracial relationship, but is attracted to Jennifer also. He is a product of an interacial marriage and saw the absolute misery his father endured at the hands of his mother. For this reason, Phillip strives to keep Jennifer at bay. Of course he is not always successful and this is fodder for some of the hottest sex scenes that Diana has ever done (whew!). This is a definite keeper, but only for this book. Good reading!
