This book was very inspiring. I would personally put it us there with Conversations Wiht God and An Encounter With A Prophet.

Inspiring!
Truly a glimpse of spiritual power

A book for seekers as well as believers!
Shocky writes in such an easy manner that this book was a hard one for me to put down. Even after reading it, I found myself mulling over the stories and their powerful messages. It has definitely touched me and my family in a positive way, especially as I have put to work some of the lessons learned. What a wonderful gift this makes for a friend or loved one in need of a lift. It doesn't take long to read, but what a difference it makes!

Excellent Book!
What a beautiful tribute to the Angels in our lives! Mrs Anderson has done a marvelous job of compiling wonderful, yet believable stories about visitations by Heavenly Beings.

Heavenly!
Where Angels Walk is an unforgettable book of God's love, help and intervention in our lives through the love of His Angels. All the stories are true and unbelievably remarkable. God has told us, "Ask and ye shall receive", and that includes the asking for help for our loved ones and for ourselves.

This is a book that will renew your faith and reaffirm God's love for us. It is at the darkest times of our lives, when we feel alone and abandoned, that we are loved the most. Help is there and we just have to ask for it. As Joan Anderson says, "...that, whatever their failings, God is holding them gently in the palm of His hand."

Reading the numerous stories, you will discover that angels can take many forms and not just the heavenly beings we were taught about as children.

Read this book to renew your spirit, increase your faith and to uplift your life. You will NOT be disappointed. This book is a gem. And remember that you are loved and that miracles do indeed happen!

perfect sense
It just makes perfect sense to me when I read the angel stories in this book. How powerful, yet so gentle these angels are. It was so inspiring to read each story. Thanks to Joan Wester Anderson for sharing her gift of writing and speaking.

Inspiring, Uplifting, and Heavenly!!
Where Miracles Happen is a wonderful book, which will warm your heart, bring tears to your eyes and leave you with such a warm feeling all over! Ms. Anderson has managed once again, to capture the essence of the miraculous in everyday life. With over 50 different accounts of true encounters with heavenly beings, one knows that God loves us, we are watched over, protected, and guided constantly throughout our lives. Sometimes, as shown by several of the stories, our deceased loved ones are with us and also watching over us.

Help is always available, one just has to ask for it, as the story illustrated of the mother who did not have enough money to feed her children and food miraculously appeared, or the child caught in the snowstorm and could not find her way home, yet was guided by a supposed neighbor, who was later found out to be sick that entire week, or the gentleman who was protected driving when his mother invoked safety prayers from him and avoided a collision where a dozen cars lost control, yet no one was injured.

There are also stories of healings and of our loved ones sending signs and messages to reassure us that they are indeed in a place of love and that they are indeed all right. It seems that their messages and signs bring such healing and release to those that they have left behind.

These stories will inspire you and lift you up if you are feeling blue. Sometimes we need gentle reminders from above, that we are loved and cherished and not forgotten, even though we ourselves may think so.

I love keeping Ms. Anderson's books near by and randomly opening them and reading passages after a long and particularly stressful day! I would also encourage anyone to check out Ms. Anderson's website, where one can subscribe to a true angel story of the week!

This book would be great comfort to anyone who has lost a loved one, as well as to those who are experiencing turmoil in their lives. The title of the book does indeed live up to its name and the miracles presented in this book are phenomenal!

Highly recommended!!

A Wonderful Book!
This is a truly wonderful book. It will leave you with love in your heart and tears in your eyes. A book everyone should read.

Very Inspirational Book!
This book is wonderful and very inspirational. The stories make you feel warm and definitely make you think about the world. The stories are very uplifting and a big joy to read.

Wonderful, inspring book!
This is the third book of Ms. Anderson's that I have read and am once again amazed and inspired. Her stories are stories of beauty, faith and love and each and every one cannot help but fill one with faith and hope.

"For nothing is impossible with God." We are reminded once again, the love that God has for us and we need only ask and we shall receive.

My favorite story was Triumph In The Sky, the story of a baby's journey to receive a liver transplant and the pilot who aided him on his journey.

Miracles do happen. As Joan says, "His light is eternal. His love prevails."

All the stories are beautiful and I recommend this book highly. You will be changed - you will be left thinking and you will be crying and smiling and at peace.

Sends your faith soaring!
If you ever questioned your faith, this is the book for you! Being able to read these incredibe uplifting stories,it will encourage your heart and enlighten your faith.Joan Anderson has been blessed with a wonderful gift. As long as she is writing, I shall read.

Spectacular!
This book is about touching stories of normal children who were helped by God's helpers, the angels. Even if you do not normally read religious writing, this book is touched gently with a taste of joy, and it will soon become a classic you can hold in your heart forever. Be your god Yahweh, Bhudda, or Muhamad, almost all of us answer to a higher power. This heartwarming book is perfect to read by yourself, with a friend, and esspesially your guardian angel.

An absolute gem!
I love Joan Anderson's angel books, and this book is no exception. This angel of a book is devoted solely to children's accounts of their heavenly visitors and it is a gem!

This book is to be shared amongst families and it is a truly wonderful book to share with children to teach them about their loving protectors, who are with them always. I also found that I was given a gentle reminder that my guardian angel is always with me, even at my lowest moments!

The stories are inspirational, and the messages of love, faith, and trust will carry with you long after you finish this wonderful book. You will cry, you will laugh, and you will want to read more! You will be left with feelings of love and knowing that someone is always looking out for you. My only complaint is that the book was not longer!!

This book will touch your heart and leave you feeling uplifted. It is also a great book to open and read when one is feeling down and blue! What I found remarkable in most of the stories, was when the children were in a situation where they felt compromised or felt that they were going to be harmed, they remembered their parents saying to them to call on either God or the angels to help them. Once they invoked this petition, help was swift and sure. One cannot help but come away with feelings of amazement and total wonder and knowing that we truly are loved.

A book to pass on and on!!!

Joan's books made me feel a brush of an Angel's wing
What can I do about Joan Wester Anderson's books about Angels ?

I have 3 books from her :

An Angel to watch over me When miracles happen and my favorite WHERE ANGELS WALK.

These books are amazing is like a touch of Heaven everytime I read them ( I read them many times each of them )I feel like if many Angels were reading with me on my shoulders. It feels great. Thanks Joan I noticed I had some Angel's touches during my life that I didn't know. Everytime I read a testimony from her books A big smile of happiness and thankfull come to my face and thank GOD for helping all his children and myself. This sweet lady is a really nice person not only as a writter, ' cause many times when I need some prayers for my mom or myself, JOAN was one of the first persons to answer my prayer request. I think Joan must be a real Angel, ' cause not only she made feel pretty good everytime I read her books she helps me when I need some prayers too, I believe she is a real Angel helping a lot of people throught her books and good actions to help somebody, like all GOD's Angels do to help people. Joan Wester Anderson's books are a touch of Heaven on Earth. Buy them, it's garanteed

This is a wonderful book full of inspirational stories.
O.k....I know you've heard alot about angels and how unusual and wonderful things can happen to everyday people. This book showed so many examples of how peoples lives are being altered by the sight and voices of angels.

Now I'm a little predjudice towards this book because....I had one of my stories accepted into her book. I feel so priviledged to be a part of such an inspiring book!

Inspitational Happenings
A compelling rendition of unexplained happenings, so inspirational; and by reading it, if you didn't believe in angels and intervention from on high, you would have to rethink your views.
So many God-incidences instead of mere coincidences are portrayed in this book. I myself have had many unexplained happenings in my life, and I have to say that one of them is included in this book.
The author has a way of presenting it all in an interesting, believable manner. A must read!

Good Company
Joan Wester Anderson's book titled "Power of Miracles, Stories of GOD in the Everyday" is a must read for anyone who believes in the gift of miracles but, more importantly, for those individuals that do not.

I was mesmerized by the powerful examples contained in her book. As I read these true stories, I experienced a range of emotions. In particular, tears of joy. The graces received by people just like you and me were deeply moving. Not only were the stories interesting and well written, it was very reassuring to know that GOD does care about all - both big and small.

The only thing I would have wanted was a longer book with even more wonderful examples of GOD in the everyday.

I strongly recommend this book.

The Story of My Life (G.K. Hall Large Print Book)

Helen Keller- The Story of My Life
Helen Keller- The Story of My Life
By: Helen Keller
Reveiwed by: J. Yang
Period: P.4

In the first nineteen months of Helen Keller's life, she is a normal child like us. Suddenly, a high fever gets on Helen Keller and makes her deaf and blind. Forever, she is in a dark, silent world. Anne Sullivan is Helen's teacher. She teaches Helen how to communicate with signs and gestures. Helen Keller also learns to read and write.

What I liked about this book is that it is very deltailed. The story gives details on Helen's feelings, the enviroment, and whatever Helen Keller feels. "On the afternoon of that eventful day, I stood on the porch, dumb, expectant." You can actually feel how Helen Keller feels. When I read this book, I always feel how Helen feels. I guess the book is very descriptive!

Another thing I liked in this book was when Helen Keller was learning. Anne Sullivan is a great, loving teacher. Anne loved Helen. "Miss Sullivan put her arm gently round me and spelled into my hand, "I love Helen."" Helen asks about what was love, and Anne Sullivan said to her that love is in your heart. Anne is a very passionate person.

My favorite part of the book was when Helen went to the sea. She went with Anne Sullivan. Helen went into the sea for her first swim. All the waves were splashing on her. Helen Keller drank some of the water up and then she said, "Who put salt in the water?" Finally, Anne Sullivan carried Helen out of the water for a little rest.

good good good
The Story of My Life by Helen Keller is an autobiography illustrating her insistent desire in learning how to write and read and defeating her deafness and blindness at the same time. This book records her life back from when she was as young as 4. Due to the loss of sight and hearing at the age of 19 months, Helen lived her life in frustration and pain in her early life. She couldn't understand her family because she didn't yet learn how to communicate. To solve that, her parents hired Ms. Anne Sullivan who influenced her the most. Even througt special education with Ms. Sullivan, Helen coulsn't communicate with her family without Ms. Sullivan's translations. Yet, Helen didn't give up. Her passion for learning how to read and write overcame the obstacles. Her improvements on reading, writing, and arithmetic amazed her teachers and family. She has succeeded in many many areas which helped her to get in college. On her way, there were events that made her learn that deafness can be conquered, such as the blind institution, etc. The students in blind institution were one of Helen's inspiration in learning. Since they lived states away, Helen must contact her friends by mail. That motivated Helen's will to write more. The attached letters in the book shows how much she's improved since she first started to write. This book has taught us lessons that we would never learn in everyday life. Helen Keller defeated her disabilities and lived went to college as a result of her hardworks. Her courage and insistence should be admired. Teenagers nowadays worry much more on appearance or etc rather than their future. This book shows the lesson of working hard, and anything would be possible.

A STORY WORTH TELLING
I first read this book in 6th grade. I have read it several times in the intervening years, the most recent time being within the past one year.

Helen Keller, blind and deaf since the age of 1 1/2 has offered, in her own words an accounting of her life experience. It is incredible to imagine how this woman, unable to see or hear can give such a strong voice to descriptions of nature. The book is replete with beautiful, articulate metaphors that draw the reader into the world as Helen knew it. One wonders how a person with no language can "think," and Helen provides some clues. During these "dark days," prior to the arrival of her "Teacher," Annie Sullivan, Helen's life was a series of desires and impressions. She could commnicate by a series of crude signs she and her parents had created. She demonstrated early on that she could learn.

I like the way Helen herself takes her readers past that water pump when she learned that "all things have a name." Instead of getting stuck there, Helen takes her readers on the journey of her life to that point.

In addition to having a good linguistic base, Helen also demonstrates having a phenomenal memory. When she was twelve, she wrote a story she believed to be her own. Entitled "The Frost King," it bore a strong resemblance to one written by a Ms. Canby called "The Frost Fairies." Many of the sentences are identical and a good number of the descriptions are paraphrased. In relating this devasting incident, Helen and Annie recall that Annie had exposed Helen to the story some three years earlier and Helen had somehow retained that information. This plainly shows intelligence.

Both the "Frost" stories are reprinted in full, thus giving the reader a chance to see just how amazing being able to remember such a work really was.

Helen describes her work raising money for other deaf-blind children to attend the Perkins School for the Blind in Boston and in so doing, embarks upon her lifelong mission as a crusader for multiply challenged individuals.

Forever Young : The Life, Loves, and Enduring Faith of a Hollywood Legend ; The Authorized Biography of Loretta Young

What a disappointment
Whilst Loretta Young unquestionably lead an interesting life, you would not know it from this whitewashed, saintly version. This book would have been far better promoted as a commentary on Loretta Young and her relationship with god. Certainly those readers wanting to know about her experiences in Hollywood in the 1930s would be disappointed. Her screen career was largely glossed over - we are talking about a woman who worked with pioneers such as Lon Chaney - you'd barely know it from this book. Similarly, there was little on her relationship with her sisters or any comments of substance about their lives or careers. Even the more 'scandalous' elements of her life were only worth a couple of pages - the rest of the book was more like a conversion exercise. Whilst the religious element was obviously something that influenced who she was as a person, the author did not delve beyond this. It is an injustice if this is the best that can be offered in her memory.

Limited Scope
I read this book primarily to learn more about Loretta Young the actress (as the cover states "A Hollywood Legend"), but found myself instead reading the story of a woman and her deep faith. While this is inspiring, and Young was indeed known and loved for her christianity, it isn't much of a movie star biography. It's obvious that Young chose Anderson knowing that the focus of her book would be religion and not really the story of her life. I think a better format would have been serialization in a magazine, rather than published as a biography.

While the author does relate the truth about Loretta's daughter with Clark Gable (Judy Lewis), she also makes backhanded assertions, like Spencer Tracy's daughter Susan telling Loretta, "There were only two women in my father's life. My mother, and you," in essence an attempt at de-legitimizing Tracy's long association with Katharine Hepburn.

I've never read this author's work before, but it does seem to me that she's got her own agenda going with stories of angels and miracles and spirituality. I really wanted more about Young's life in Hollywood and less about the religion, but this is not the book for that (and the cover is a bit misleading).

Bottom line: if you are a Loretta Young fan who wants to know more about her deep faith, this is the book for you. Hollywood fans, look elsewhere.

This is GODIVA Chocolate for the Soul!
When Loretta Young went shopping for an author to pen her life story, she wisely chose one who delivered angels and miracles to the New York Times bestseller list. Once again, Joan Wester Anderson researches her subject with a journalist's eye for accuracy, and writes in her signature storyteller's fluid style. Her replay of the life of Loretta "Gretch" Young is a page-turning saga, from the star's refusal to compromise her Catholic values even when movie studio "suits" make good on their career-terminating threats,to her break-up with Spencer Tracy, her struggle to raise her daughter by Clark Gable, and her fierce fidelity to her mother and sisters. Anyone who has a craving for deep exploration into the stuff that makes strong women tick, will find this book a great read--and an even better reread.

Well it was ok!
Well I would just like to say this if anyone listens to the voice of my opinion!Well it was alright.I really thought the other books that she had published were a whole lot better. It was also really too short of a book.I really recommend her other books!Thats all to my voice of freedom!!But maybe it just me who nows!

Inspiring...made saying "Yes to God's call" a reality
Mary & Joseph are real believeable people in Anderson's introduction which sets the stage for the rest of the story. I felt blessed by the stories ...brief and to the point as they were. Each has its unique blessing and ability to capture a personal meaning for me! Its on my list to give this year!
