Read it,you'll never forget Fungle the gnole!
Fungle the gnole is not only an ideal being, it opens the door of every fantasy. Everything is possible! Fungle gives us confidence in believing in what one cannot see or touch. When you read the book, magic does exist, it enters your heart and goes to your room. Pilar Barrera Wey.

Fantastic Fungle Fights the Forces of Evil!
GNOLE - dwarf-like herbivorous mammal. "Fungle - the only gnole ever in captivity, is considered middle-aged at one hundred twenty years."

Fungle the gnole - happier and hipper than the hobbit, more gnoledgeable than gandalf, cuddlier and cuter than Johnny Carson

Intrigued?

Alan Aldridge et al, can tell a tale like a tale has never been told before. This is definitely a book where you should believe the hype. Unfortunately, there isn't much hype. And the book is out of print. I think this must be due to bad publicity and marketing, which is the hugest shame.

I'd love to buy this book, but can't find it anywhere. It's been leant from a small village in Wales, all the way by air mail to me in Tel Aviv, as it's impossible to find this book. But if you find it, read it, treasure it, pass it on.

gnoles of the world unite!
the book, the gnole, is one of the best i have read in a long time. it was lent by a friend and i wanted to get a copy of my own and have discovered that it is out of print and very hard to find even in second-hand bookstores. (hint, hint to the publishers!)

the philosophy of the book is one of respecting and cherishing nature. take only what you need and use what you take. be kind to all living things. respect others, show courtesy even when it is not shown to you.

briefly it is about a creature whose ancestors once populated the applachian mountains in the south-eastern us. they guarded knowledge until the time came for it to be used. now there are only two gnoles left there and they must stop some evil creatures from making use of the sacred knowledge to do harm.

a wonderful story for children of all ages. also the illustrations must be seen. i have seldom been so captivated. i heartily recommend this book to anyone, any age, any time, any place.

Regarding The Butterfly Ball & the Grasshoppers Feast
I was just looking for a copy of this book..i had it as a child and it still looms large in my memory 25 years later...I was hoping to find it for my daughter's upcoming 6th birthday.

Stunning illustrations
I had this book as a child, along with the record. The illustrations were fresh in my mind after 20+ years. It is a joy to share with young readers.

Feast your imagation on this book!
I first encountered this book as an LP some 25 years ago; I enjoyed the LP and decided to find the book. The book is illustrated with wonderful color drawings of the creatures with human attributes. The book is well written, and it has an appendix that describes each of the real animals in the story. The one character in the story that stands out in my memory is Arena, the spider, she likes to sit in from of the mirror and admire her eyes; I had never though of a spider as being conceited and this struck me as funny. The story line of the book is about a grand celebration that the forest creatures are having. It starts with the Herald going around to announce the great event; it proceeds through the day describing the preparations each of the creatures goes through to get ready for the ball, the journey to the ball, the ball and the feast, and the trip back home by the light of fireflies. This is a wonderful children's book.

Let It Be........and don't buy
Illistrated lyrics my a$*....Personally, I was a bit dissapointed with this book. Let me get one thing straight, I do love art, paintings, drawings etc, but this book is full of the most obscure pictures of random things that are totally irrelevent to the song, let alone depicting the lyrics.
Don't get me wrong, I am absolutly mad about the Beatles and there music, the lyrics and songs, and of course their handsomely good looks (hehe) , but this book just made it seem like someone took a whole bunch of meaningless doodles by un-notorious 'artists'and stuck them beside imagary, story telling lyrics. If you want to learn background about the beatles' songs, this book will take you nowhere . However, if you ARE looking for some unattractive illistrations and incorrect lyrics to beatles songs, you've found your match. So before you buy, think about it....LET IT BE for your own sake, and your wallet's

For the Beatlemaniac who has all their books...
No reviews, no bios, just great lyrics and good art. This book was originally published during the late 60s, and so the art reflects the time. My only complaint: "Two of Us" is not about Paul and Linda (as the picture suggests), it's about the friendship of John and Paul (lines like "you and I have memories, longer than the road that stretches out ahead" make little sense in regard to Linda; Paul had only recently met her at the time of the song's writing, and he went on to spend the next 30 years with her). That aside, I say no Beatle library is complete without it.

AMAZING!
This book is utterly inspiring. The music of the Beatles is legendary, and the way the artists re-create the songs into art is visionary and fascinating. Plus, it's not bad having the lyrics handy, too. A must-have for all Beatlemaniacs!
