Unforgettable bohemian fable.
This is a very good approach to latin visitors' life in the US, including relations between different people and cultures. The author writes about relationship challenges that appears as a young couple starts their travel in separate ways, and they try to get in with their relation in a foreign country, and how a mexican male, althoug with their macho cultural roots, became a very different man.

This book has been written from a foreigner's point of view, so you can find some very strange descriptions about life in the USA.

I really suggest this book if you want to learn and know about the latino experiences in the USA.

Superv book, Just a little over priced
Been born in Cuba, I was fascinated with the tittle of this book. You have to understand Cuba's role in the Civil War is not really known in our Cuban circles. The book was a little over priced, but I decided to purchase it. In truth, it was a superv book, both from a Cuban an Civil War perspective. The only reason I did not give this book a 5 star was the price tag that comes along such a skinny book.

Cuba's unknown history
It is great that someone took the time to research our history.

One good book
This a good example of the literature made in Mexico at last years.

The book is a certain kind of trip between right and wrong, the friendship after the 30's and the strange way that life has to show us to live it.

I read this book, at fist time, five years ago and now, that I read it again I found out many new things that I did not catch at first time.

This is not the best book of this man, but it is a good chance to try to understand the crazy life in Mexico. One of the best material of this writter can be find in his first books like La tumba (some influence of existencilism), Luz interna y luz externa (a look inside the world of the mexican hippies and the way to be in hell and stay there) and many other books.

Tropicals Cowboys & Crazy Gringas
well, its a interesant book, with a lot true things, if you have the same point of view, that Jose Agustin has, im not, but its a good idea read the book when you are in Acapulco.

At this time of the night I started to remember how the love of a man can and will forget the mistakes of the mexican modern stupied couples.

A Mexican culture approach...
The story is like a fantasy, it takes the reader deep into the Mexican culture. It shows its great arqueological zones and the mystical history and myths of the natives like the Aztecs and their multiple gods.

The author tells the story showing the common language of the people in México, their habits and lifestyle, and also their thoughts about the witches or curanderas.

This is a good book for Spanish students.
