Geology of Europe
Published in Textbook Binding by Halsted Press (November, 1980)
Amazon base price: $53.95
Average review score:

This book does exactly what it purports to do - give a complete discussion of the geology of Europe. It is a strange mixture of highly technical, specialized jargon combined with a quirky intermixture of highly entertaining antidotes incidental to the technical discussion. These anecdotes alone make this book worthwhile. As a professional geologist, I often found the Eurocentric terminology obscure, but the book is actually quite thorough in its discussion of the subject matter. Its organization makes it quite difficult to use as a reference work, but its entertaining aspects compensate more than adequately.
