A book to read when you want to dream!

I found this book amazing because it helps you to organize ideas for any type of design. It allows you to use different elements like color, space, and light in a way that you can combine them with things that you may already have. After applying some of the ideas in my own home I noticed people would come in and feel different, I felt like I was somewhere else. I recommend this book to anyone who would like to little by little begin to redecorate or likes a change every now and then.

I just love this book. The evocative messages are an inspiration. Don't just look at the pictures - read this book!

This book was a great reference in residency and now in practice

Have the urge to fill your brain with tidbits and knowledge concerning the science of astrology; then one should read this book, i.e., Encyclopedia of Astrology by Nicholas De Vore. The preface written by Mr. De Vore is well written and a pleasure to read. However, there are some problems with this book that are to glaring to ignore; first there is no table of contents ( which makes the search a bit ardous) and secondly Mr. De Vore forgot to include and index ( which leaves the user feeling quite lost and at times even bewildered). On the wholde this book , i.e., Encyclopedia of Astrology by Nicholas De Vore is very usefull and I would definetely recommend it to anyone remotely interested in the art and science of astrology.

Mr. De Vore has made a science of astrology with his work. I ran across this book at a garage sale a few years ago and I was just beginning to delve into astrology at that time. Though it is out of print, I cannot urge those who are interested in astrology enough to find it somehow. Written before the 1950's and well before the term new-age was a term, this book provides facts about astrology and terms. You will not find anything biased or generalized in this book. I could not have found a better book for any price, much less a dime.

Lately, 16-year-old Sharon Anders has been having some horrific nightmares, ones in which she's being stalked and stabbed to death by an unknown stranger. With the help of her close friend, Chiku Williams, Sharon hopes to uncover the meaning of her dreams and find a way to finally put an end to them. However, unbeknown to Sharon, her parents have been keeping a dark secret about her birth and a murder that happened 17 years ago, both of which are important links to her torturous nightmares.

"I. O. U." is a great supernatural thriller ideal for teens who enjoy scary books about nightmares, demons, and curses. The only letdown is how quickly the bad guy is to identify (which seems to be a faulty pattern in a few of Nicholas Adams's books). Other than that, "I. O. U." is a fun and easy book to read. Additional dream-related teen thrillers you might like: "Dream Date" by Sinclair Smith (nightmares), "Sweet Dreams" by Kate Daniel (sleepwalking).

Fast action, witty dialog, sharp characters and believable situations made this book the best of the "Horror High" series. See if you can get it used somewhere. It's worth looking for.

I enjoyed reading this book, but early on I knew the ending. So once I got to the end I wasn't shocked, but I liked the way the author handled it. Robyn was a good character and she knew her stuff. If you're into the Zodiac aspect, this book is for you.

This book was really great. I really love books about werewolves and this book was one that I really loved. I wasn't really expecting the ending but it was really cool. This book has all the genres for a horror book: slasher killing, a strange but cool hero, good setting... I love this book, you should definetly read this book!

In the small town of Branton, a savage bloodthirsty cougar is on the loose, killing anyone in its way. First it was the animal keeper at the game farm, and then the high school student, Chrissie Kelly, followed by the hunter who was on its trail. But for two teenagers--Cory Darnell and Holly Parker--these killings mean more than just the random, thoughtless attacks of a cougar. For Cory, it's physical proof of the unaccountable bloody visions that have been plaguing him lately. He can't remember where he's been or what he's done when he blacks out at night, but he remembers the hunt and the kill of all three people vividly. Is he, indeed, responsible for killing his girlfriend and the other two people--or is there something far more sinister happening in Branton? The one person who knows the answer to this is Holly, the lone teen investigator who is out to prove that the cougar is just a cover up for a much larger, smarter creature--a werewolf. But first she must find out who the werewolf is, because after only three deaths, the creature is hardly satiated, and more people are likely to die unless Holly can find and kill it before then.

The ending of "Santa Claws" was definitely exciting, even though I had guessed the secret of the werewolf beforehand. Still it's well worth reading if you're a fan of horror and, especially, of werewolves. As warning, there is some violence, but it's tolerable if you're used to blood and guts and you're older than twelve. The ending did leave a possibility for a sequel, which I would love to see happen. I really enjoyed this book and think a second book would be just as good.

The only thing that bothered me, though, was the front cover and the title of this book--both greatly misrepresented the story. There's very little to do with Christmas except the mention of holiday caroling and decorations at the end of the book, plus the snow. And the creature on the front cover could have been anything, but hardly looked like a wolf of any kind, least of all a werewolf. If I had known "Santa Claws" was about werewolves, I probably would have started it a lot sooner.

The book has a lot of text and a lot of humor. It's entertaining to read but I didn't find it very helpful for report writing. When you look at the highlighted portions of the text you have to do extensive reading to find out if you are doing it the right way or the wrong way. It felt more like an episode of the world's worst police reports. The book could have been organized better with major points highlighted. The commonly confused word section was very helpful.

I recently read this book in conjunction with the seminar put on by the authors Nicholas Meier and R.J. Adams. The book is a must read for all future police officers as well as a must have for current officers and supervisors. This is the first report writing book that I was actually able to read and enjoy. I was able to pick up several tips that have made my job much easier. You will learn so much from this book you'll wonder how you worked without it.

I feel this book is a great resource for police report writers. It teaches the basics of english usage and reporting as it relates to police writing without putting you to sleep. A valuable book for everyone who "pulls paper."

Antonio da Sangallo the Younger was one of the most important architects of the Renaissance during the first half of the 16th century in Italy. A few of his buildings belong to the guiding examples of public and private architecture. Overshadowed by better known artists like Bramante or Michelangelo, his reputation among his contemporaries was as least as high as that of those. But he is also the one architect by whom survived more drawings than of any other one of that time (and even of later times). The long-prepaired edition of these drawings - from the collection of the Florentine Uffizi - is a milestone not only in architectural history, but also in editing important art historical material at all. A group of famous and highly-skilled architectural historians made this work available with a lot of deep-going contributions to the analysis of the drawings. So, reading comments about fortresses, machines and other buildings normally not thought of to be of great interest at all, lets one understand how an architect with great skill and experience (and a large group of collaborators) managed "his job". In fact, Sangallo seems to be the first architect in European history, who organized his work in a way very close to the one still used today: the architect gives ideas to further development to his collaborators, corrects their contributions and organizes the whole work of the "studio" rather than doing everything himself - as others did at the same time. I think, one can not only learn a lot about a special architect in a special time from this book, but also, how architectural invention and execution was organized in the renaissance (and from then on). The detailed analytic descriptions of the drawings sometimes even read like a step-by-step solution of complicated riddles, and it's interesting to follow the discussion of such a complicated matter. If you are interested in architecture or art history, this book is a must!

At the beginning of the school year at Cresswell High, 10th-grader Lisa Enright and her boyfriend (Skip Masters) join the debating team--she as the recording secretary, and he as the replacement for one of the debate members. Not long after joining, though, Skip is murdered during a hazing prank. With the help of one of the group's leading speakers (Donna Forsi), Lisa tries to uncover the truth about her boyfriend's death.

"Resolved: You're Dead" isn't the best book I've read by Nicholas Adams, but at least it's short (153 pages). About three-fourths of the way into the book, though, the identity of the killer is revealed, leaving very little suspense after that. Most readers will be able to guess the ending, too. But if you like Nicholas Adams and/or the Horror High series, then you might like this book. R. L. Stine fans will probably like Horror High, as well.

The first page of Sudden Death pulled me in and kept me turning pages due to the suspense.I have read it 4 times!The moral is kind of hard to see but it so saying that you don't need to take steroids for sports.It was saying don't sacrifice your body for something you don't even need to succeed."Would his father have taken steroids if the were available?Billy tried to convince himself that his father would have but inside he knew it wasn't true."All of this happens at and average American school called Cresswell High.This story probably would have happened recently.Lara Crandall has been dying to break a good story for the school newspaper to put in her résumé to go to journalism school. She gets a lead that the school hockey players are might be using steroids.She investigates and three players on the team are using them and they want this story buried.They will stop at nothing to put this story away.When hockey players start dying,Lara finds out she might be the next target.
