Is It Worth The Trouble?
This book is truly inspiring for both young and older readers. It provides a close look into the lives (and struggles) of black inventors. Many of whom we know very little about. This book includes details of their feelings and struggles as the America was changing.

If the reader has struggled to "fit in" in any way, they will be drawn to the compelling stories of these obscure black inventors. Today, black contributors such as G. Morgan, Jan Metzelinger, Madame C.J.Walker and more have significantly enhanced our lives!

Today, we enjoy the ability to choose from a variety of shoes, which have been mass-produced. Numerous lives have been saved because of developments in blood extractions and fire fighting equipment. Road rage has emerged but other chaos has been removed from driving as the result of one inventor's contribution. Read and find out how. People everywhere still reap the rewards of African-American ingenuity.

Scientist who persevered during trying times have impacted the world. In this book, you will see the enormous benefits provided to humanity from several obscure faces. Here their stories are unfolded.

It inspires one to continue battling the ups and downs encountered in life. It connects the past with the present. As reflected in the readings, it is worth the trouble to pursue your dreams. Even in the midst of adversity. This book is a must to read for children and adults alike!

Seven enterprising individuals and the companies
In Business Builders In Toys And Games, children's author Nathan Aaseng provides young readers ages 10 and older an amazing spotlight on the evolution of seven enterprising individuals and the companies they founded to create famous toys and games, ranging from Hiroshi Yamauchi and Nintendo's incalculable contribution to video games; to Gary Gygax and the history of role-playing "games without winners"; to Joshua Lionel Cowen and his famous line of toy trains; to Kirk Christiansen and the history of Lego blocks. Flo Jo and the Funny Suits
(3 elementary students: ...): It's a very interesting book. It tells about Flo Jo's one-legged suits and her unique personal style. It inspires people never to give up on something you love a lot. There were times when Flo Jo was worried she wouldn't be able to compete, but somehow she perservered through the difficult times. In this book you will find out that Flo Jo made many new world records in running. (We don't understand how she could sign autographs with her six-inch long fingernails!!) Flo Jo wasn't allowed to run in the hand off relay because her fingernails were too long. In the end, the the coaches let her keep them (the second time). We would recommend this book for people who are looking for a good biography and love running. We think the reading level for this book is appropriate for grades 3 and up, or as a Read Aloud for grades 2 and up.

An excellent and accessible account of a mysterious disease
This book is an excellent and accessible account of a mysterious disease. The author compares the basics of the disease to a light bulb that has short-circuited; the nerves that carry electrical impulses in the body are damaged, and therefore the send sporadic messages. Specifically, nerve coverings are damaged because the immune system mistakenly attacks its own cells.

By using accounts of famous individuals who have been stricken with the disease, the author presents the disease as one that doesn't discriminate, one that can vary from person to person, and one that can be dealt with when under proper care. The book also discusses the immune system and the various forms of Multiple Sclerosis. The author does a good job of pointing out misconceptions and overstatements about the disease - for example, Multiple Sclerosis is not fatal and 2/3 of sufferers can still walk.

A very good book that will answer many questions in addition to fulfilling curriculum requirements.

An excelant role-playing book
I first saw this book in my school library and immeadiatley read it up. This book puts you in the shoes of some of the greatist military minds in history, including Eisenhower, Schwartzcoph, Hitler, and others. Fans of roll playing games will find this short read very enjoyable, especialy when you find out that, had YOU been in charge, Grmany would have won WWI. I recomend this book to anyone who likes history, especialy military history.
Note: This book is very short, so don't waste money on a purchase. Find it at a library instead

Great book to read in these times
After traveling to Northern Arizona last summer, I wanted to learn more about the Navajo. I found this book which tied in with my interest of WWII. It was a fast read and very informative.

One of The best books I have ever read.
First of all, I am an 8th grade student at Houghton Middle School. I read this for a book report, and I found this book fascinating, interesting, and exciting. It talks about from their roots and their culture, all the way to their finest hour at Iwo Jima and Mount Suribachi. I reccomend this book to anyone who is interested in World War 2 and the Navajo Code Talkers.

History Comes Alive!
A fascinating true story about the Navajo people, World War II, and creating and breaking codes. This book is of the sort that really makes history come alive for readers. I thoroughly enjoyed it. My husband will shortly be purchasing several copies for use in his Jeopardy Reading Tournament that he holds each year for 4th and 5th graders in the school district he is a media specialist in.

Role play historically
If you like role play, you'll love this book!

Suppose you were the president. Something major has come up, and you have to make a decision that will affect thousands of others. What would you do? Would you make the same decision the actual president made, when the choice was his?

Once you make your choice, the book tells you what really happened, and the reasoning behind the decision. You still may not agree with what the president did, but you'll probably understand why he did it.

Check this book out, and the others like it in the series. You'll be glad you did!
